Cute & Cozy

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect. It even rained all weekend and we made the best of it. It's close enough to Gatlinburg to utilize it's fun activities but far enough and quiet enough to feel like your away from it all. I'm sure in the summertime this whole place is amazing and fun. It was clean and affordable. Thanks for the stay, we will be back.

The perfect home base for a hiking family

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth visit to the Happy Camper and once again, we left happily talking about our next booking! We are a family of three and enjoy hiking with our special needs child. This camper gives us the feeling that we are camping, but with the safety of climate control, and the comfort of amenities. It’s far enough from Gatlinburg center that we have peace and quiet and close to Cosby so we can get basic needs fulfilled. (Dollar General to the rescue a few times!) we hiked all of the greenbrier trails. It snowed on our trip and for the first time, we didn’t cook out at all. The oven and stove really came in handy for our meals. The camper warmed us up fast after our cold snowy hikes. We rented movies from the Red Box in Cosby at the Dollar General and had a movie night every night to unwind. If you’re a coffee and book lover, stop in Cosby at OurPlace and get a great cup of coffee and browse the rare/used book selection. Debbie is just a text or phone call away and is such a lovely hostess, I keep her programmed in my phone, but everything was so perfect we didn’t need to reach out at all. We will be back in a few months! The Happy Camper has become a favorite get away for our little family!

It was okay..

  • 3 of 5

With this camper you pretty much get what you paid for, aside from taking a shower and the hot water running out after 5 mins. It’s was very cozy but if you looked too close you would notice water damage in most of the corners-some that have paint trying to cover them. The heat was an issue also, it would be extremely warm in the bedroom and freezing in the living room, even with the electric heater going. Downtown Gatlinburg was Atleast 30 mins away with good flow of traffic. If you’re looking for a cheap getaway and you’re not picky this is a good place to stay.

Our second stay at the Other Happy Camper

  • 4 of 5

We love staying here and hope to return next year for our cousins birthday weekend! The camper is homey and always very clean. We love grilling and having a fire in the fire pit. I only rated it 4 stars for a couple of minor reasons, one is parking is very tight for two cars, we were afraid we would run over the solar lights and two, you need to provide a blanket for the sofa sleeper. If you put the heat higher than 68, the bedroom is way too hot but the living room is still chilly. We had a quilt but an additional blanket would be nice.

The Perfect Camping Hub for a Hiking Family

  • 5 of 5

This was our third and best stay yet to the other happy camper. We are already planning our fourth! The camper has been updated to all electric heat and a new electric stove! No more gas tanks!

We are a hiking family with a special needs toddler and don’t feel comfortable tent camping but still want a camping experience when we cook hobo packets for dinner and eat our meals outside. We are able to have this with warm beds to sleep in, a full size refrigerator, hot running water for bathing and dishes and a stove/oven to cook breakfast. The location is away from the tourist congestion and there are many great trails nearby. This time we completed both Injun Creek and Porters Creek, both great trails with historical sites to stop and admire. Debbie is a dream to work with, always very responsive, courteous and caring without being intrusive. We hope to continue to frequent the other happy camper for years to come!

Make sure to have both wood and charcoals for the grill, the grate is high. Enjoy the new fire pit, it was great to warm our feet by after hiking all day!
