This beautiful, beachfront condo is located in a very small (only 4 units), complex in Puerto Morelos. We are close enough but far enough to be out of the noise and crowded beaches of the village. We are a short 20 minute walk to the village. Tkelcondo is located on a beautiful sandy beach in the quaint, laid back, fishing village of Puerto Morelos. This unit is extremely well furnished and comfortable. They have telephone, internet, satellite TV, air-conditioning, ceiling fans and washer/dryer in each unit. Theses units have huge balconies to sit and relax on and enjoy the sea breeze. Sit and enjoy your favorite beverage and watch the pelicans fly by and dive for fish. Enjoy the view of the waves breaking over the world's 2nd largest barrier reef. The ground floor balcony leads you right to the beach where you can catch some sun or swim and snorkel in the pristine waters of the Carribean. (Great snorkeling under the dock out front!!) Most people love to go for long walks (or runs) on the sandy beaches where you can go for miles in either direction or you can just sit, relax and enjoy!!!!!

We loved our cozy and quiet stay
The condo was perfect for our needs. The directions Glen sent to get us there was perfect. Jose and Glen are on site if you need anything, but are very hands off if you don’t. We didn’t need a thing during our stay. We didn’t walk into town as we had a car. Dining in town was delicious. There were shops and a small grocery in town and the atmosphere there was lovely. This condo is centrally located to access Cancún and Playa. During our visit we went to Playa, Isla Mujeres, Cancún, Cozumel and visited a Cenote. We also spent a couple days just hanging out at the pool and in the sand at the condo. The pool was refreshing and sandy part of the beach was beautiful with chairs and shade. The water however is horrible. We were unable to swim in the ocean at the condo because of the seaweed. This is not the fault of the owner, but I wish we had known before we arrived. I still give it 5 stars as we had plenty of beach swim time at the other destinations nearby.
Clean, good location, very spacious and comfortable
First let me say that my travel friend and I do not like to stay at big, crowded resorts. We seek out quiet, private accommodations where there is more of a local experience. Puerto Morelos is a very charming and active town. There are many excellent restaurants in town and there is a very lively vibe. Tklcondo was an excellent accommodation. It was tucked away and private. The unit is spacious, very clean, has 2 large bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen. The beds are very comfortable. The bath towels are also oversized, again, a very nice change from the standard towels one finds in most hotels and rental units. A surprise was having a washer and dryer. It came in very handy. There is AC if you need it. There was a nice breeze for most of our stay so did not need to use it very often. We used the gas grill several times while we were there. The pool is clean and we mostly had it to ourselves our entire stay. You can have sun or shade on the pool deck. Glen, the owner, was available, as was Jose, the on-site manager. Jose greeted us and showed us around the unit. While the unit and location were really good, it would be remiss if I did not mention the condition of the beach. This is no reflection on the rental unit/owner in any way. The Caribbean coast of Mexico is having a terrible problem with seaweed. Frankly, we could not swim in the ocean or sit on the beach at all. (This problem is not isolated to Puerto Moreles) We did not mind this as we had events planned most days where we would be away from the condo. We went to Tulum one day -- the beach was clear of seaweed, but we were happy to return to Tklcondo in the afternoon to swim in the pool and enjoy the quiet and privacy. Most evenings we were entertained by the carrying-ons by the resident woodpeckers and lizards!
This is the perfect home base in Quintana Roo - you can easily visit Cancun and Tulum and it is close to all the attractions, but if you want some peace and quiet, privacy and a "home away from home" in the evening, I highly recommend this rental. Thanks Glen and Jose!!! We enjoyed our stay.
Perfect place to relax
This is a great house to kick back, watch the sun and water, and recharge. Near restaurants and attractions but you fell removed until you want to indulge.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very blessed that we are far enough out to have the quiet and relaxing time most renters want in a rental and close enough to get to the many fine restaurants and entertainment in Puerto Morleos.
Wonderful, clean, beautifully maintained, family friendly...
My family (me + husband + 6-year-old + 3-year-old) stayed here as we traveled to Mexico for the first time. My goal was to find a place with a private beach and pool as convenient for the young kids, while also being near a small town and getting to know local Mexican life. We loved staying here. Even better than I had imagined. We arrived late (due to delays with airport and rental car) and the caretaker Jose immediately responded to my call for help in finding the key for the front door. We were pleasantly surprised by the availability of bottled water and how clean everything was. We were able to access wi-fi in the condo and our kids (who have been in Spanish immersion for several years) loved the satellite TV with Disney Junior in Spanish. The washer/dryer in unit was immeasurably helpful to wash both clothes and various beach towels that we used every day. The location is great - a short drive to town, and easy access to the highway to travel to other cities like Playa del Carmen and Cancun. Everyone was very friendly. I even met a couple walking by our private beach who asked if I was staying at Casa Tykel and then told me they'd stayed there themselves a few times and loved it. The beach is great for long walks up and down the coast, and we ate at several local places in town for our meals. The condo is also outfitted with a full kitchen where we prepared meals at home as well. My kids were amazed by the palm trees with "real" coconuts! We had no problem finding on-site parking. We are already talking about our next trip to Mexico and staying here again.
Great View and Condo!
our family of 4 stayed on the 3rd floor condo and it was wonderful.
the kitchen was well stocked, bedrooms and bathrooms clean and the view was breathtaking. The condo was huge! We didn't rent a car but we rented bikes(Greenbikes) and the bike ride into town was easy, safe and it was a lot of fun! We walked/ran both ways on the beach and the sand was perfect. the pool was clean and the chairs comfortable-- it was great to have the beach as well. I would definatley go back and stay. Glen and Vero were easy to get ahold of before our stay and answered my many questions!
Hola Sheryl, That's great that you and your family enjoyed your stay at Tkelcondo. It's a great place to have a fun, exciting vacation with your family. There's lots to see and do in the area. Hope to see you back again!! All the Best, Vero
Perfect place for our family!
Our family of 4 stayed in the 3 bedroom condo on the second floor for a week during our spring break. The place really couldn't have been more perfect! Close to the little town of Puerto Morelas where you have great restaurants, shops and really anything you need. You do need a rental car if you stay here but there is parking and it is very safe. The whole area around us was very quiet even though we were here during spring break. Our kids spent a ton of time in the pool and at the beach. We could sit under a palapa and watch them in both places. The condo itself had everything we needed, comfy furniture, dining space inside and out, a kitchen well enough appointed for a vacation and most importantly an amazing view! We would come back here again in a minute.
If there was one negative about our stay, it really had more to do with mother nature than the condo itself. There was a ton of seaweed on the beach during our stay. It did make it difficult for us to spend as much time as we wanted in the ocean. We heard that it's a very random thing and the week before there was none (bad timing on our part). Juan, the caretaker, did spend time every day making a path thru the seaweed but it would be back the next day.
We would highly recommend this place!
Hola, Thank you for your kind words about our place. We feel blessed to have our own private beach out front to enjoy and relax on your holidays. (nice and quiet) We hope to see you back again in the future. Cheers Vero
