Completely renovated in 2017 with an eye for detail, this deceptively large village house is situated in one of the 'Plus Belles Villages de France'.
Downstairs the house has a large cloakroom and a comfortable sitting room with dining area and a wood stove for winter evenings. There is a well-equipped hand built kitchen that overlooks the south facing garden that is shaded with vines.
There is one shower room with WC downstairs and another on the first floor.
Upstairs there is a sunny balcony which is a lovely place to take breakfast and three good-sized bedrooms, two of them double.
The third has one wooden bed and a large cot. The bed is 1m85 in length so more suited to a child or smaller adult.
Famous for its' yearly Rose Festival in May, Camon is a unspoilt village nestled in the rolling hills of the Ariège, on the border with the Aude.
With country walks, long cycling tracks on the old railway lines , mountain biking or horse riding around the lake and opportunities for paddling or swimming all on your doorstep, Camon offers a fabulous rural French getaway.
The nearby Bastide towns of Mirepoix and Chalabre are just a ten minute drive away and supply you with your grocery and other shopping needs, bars restaurants etc, Camon provides a quiet retreat from these often bustling more touristy areas.
Just ten minutes south of Camon is Lac Montbel where you can swim, sail, hire a kayak, stand-up paddle board or pedalo.
Camon itself has two restaurants: The Abbaye Chateau offers fine dining in a spectacular setting with their tasting menu 6 evenings a week , or there's the more casual Camonette for snacks, salads and delicious chips from organic local producers.
