Poised in a dramatic hillside position with wonderful panoramic views, 10 miles from the medieval city of Lucca, stands Villa Ceppatelli. The property is set in 10 acres of terraced gardens & olive groves, with magnificent 180 degree views over unspoilt countryside. The origins of the house are lost in history and it has been restored to offer the comforts of modern life.
The interior boasts a wealth of chestnut beams & old terracotta tiles, & is stylishly furnished with carved walnut beds, traditional oak & chestnut furniture. There is a comfortable tv room with a library of books and films and a table tennis room.
Above the house, the swimming pool is set in a terrace of terracotta tiles & traditional stonework; here there is a pergola, dining table and benches, kitchen facilities, fridge, shower, changing room & ample sunloungers.
The garden includes two further shaded outdoor eating areas for al fresco living. Extensive paths from the garden lead to gentle or demanding walks in the countryside.
The main house sleeps 8 in 4 double bedrooms, 4 bathrooms; a small detached stone barn 50 m from the main house sleeps 2 in a double bedroom & bathroom. There is an further attic bedroom with 3 single beds that can be used as a playroom. We don't recommend its use as a bedroom in summer as it gets quite hot.
This property is not suitable for elderly or infirm guests or toddlers, as there are steps from the house up to the pool, and from the parking area to the house.
