Sip coffee on the covered deck in the mornings as you watch the ducks, geese, bald eagles, grey herons and other birds. Relax in the hot tub after a day water skiing or on a snowy winter evening. Drive into Nashville and catch a music show, concert or play. Or, sit by the fire roasting hot dogs, making s'mores and telling tall tales. There are so many things to do here. Come and enjoy a special time in a magical place.

About John & Marie Golden
Ten years ago Marie and I walked the aisle and said "I Do!" I have always loved lake living and now she likes it as much as I do. I brought a cabin on a lake in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas into her life and she saw the peace and calm that lake living brought to our family. Three years ago we moved into our current home on Old Hickory Lake. We feel like we are on vacation every day. Some of our pleasures include watching the sun rise over the lake in the mornings, watching it set over the lake at dinner or taking a moonlit ride in the boat at night. Life is better at the lake. We want to share the glow we feel at the lake with others.

Why John & Marie Golden chose Mount Juliet
We had been looking for a special lake property to share for some time. We looked at many homes that were nice, but when we walked into this home we knew it was the one for us. We have owned vacation property on the lake as well as for a permanent residence and we have rented property for family outings on the lake over the years. We know what it takes to make a great time for our family and friends and believe we can create that for you, too. The house is very comfortable and has plenty of room for a group up to 10. We especially like the covered deck facing the lake. There are lots of chairs and a couple of tables for family gatherings during warm weather but there is plenty of gathering space in the living room during the colder periods. However, it also has a coziness that would make an intimate outing for a couple. The house is conveniently located to many amenities and yet gives the feeling of being secluded. It is located in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by lake people. We are a very sociable bunch until about 10:30 and then the lights usually go out. That makes it easier to watch the beautiful sunrise in the morning. We believe you will find the peace and quiet of a secluded retreat but the excitement of downtown Nashville a short drive away. All water related activities are a short, comfortable walk through the shaded back yard to our covered dock.
What makes this Cottage unique
The tree covered lot gives abundant shade during summer making for a cool walk down to the dock. The lot is level with an easy pathway to the lake. The covered back deck provides a fabulous view of the water and is a great place to hang out. The covered boat slip provides a safe, protected place to dock your boat and the huge swim platform gives you a great place to sun or just sit and watch the sun set. The Golden Getaway provides a peaceful, relaxed setting that will leave you refreshed at the end of your vacation.

Great place to stay
We had a great time. The house was nice and clean and plenty big for all 6 of us. The surroundings were peaceful and Serene. Don't forget your binoculars for awesome bird watching experience.
Country Charm not far from the Big City
We loved it! There were 9 of us staying at the house -- two chaperones and 7 high school students! We felt like we were "away from it all", but still just had a 30 minute drive to our convention at Opryland! There was plenty of room with all the amenities... and lots of extras... the kids loved taking the kayaks out on the lake! The owners are great and very assessable! We have nothing but good things to say about our stay!!!
Thank you for your glowing review. We are very happy you guys had a great time and we look forward to your return.

A lovely family Thanksgiving visit in a beautiful location
The house is clean and well laid out for a larger family with a most beautiful view in an excellent location. Everything was just as described and pictured, and the host was easy to contact and provided excellent communication. We enjoyed the large TV, kayaks, horse shoe set up, hot tub soaks and plenty of room for our cars. Our groceries came from the nearby Publix, and we found shops and fast food for the kids near enough, but our short drive off the main road was winding, country and beautiful! A restful, happy place for multigenerational fun!
Wonderful! Recommend to everyone!
We celebrated my moms birthday at this wonderful home. I can't say enough good things about this experience. John and Marie were great from booking until the day we left. They made sure we had everything. The view was amazing. We had a bonfire, roasted marshmallows and even caught fish on the dock. The highlight to our stay was seeing the deer in the backyard! The home was spotless. If I could give them more than five stars, I would. We will definitely be back!
What a nice place to stay. The house was clean as a pin and the view was awesome. We were trying to find an excuse to come back.
Every single thing about this home was PERFECT. The house, the lot, the lake; divine. Our hosts were also lovelier than you could ever imagine.
We took this trip to check an item from my father's bucket list. He's recently been diagnosed with advanced-stage pancreatic cancer and having grown up in Michigan, finds peace on water.
We found it there, and our family will forever be grateful for the time we spent there and the memories we made with each other.
