About Michele South (firstname.lastname@example.org)
I fell in love with NC when I first flew into Asheville airport. I purchased this property for the privacy. There isn't buildable land in sight when looking out from the deck. I love not seeing other houses. It is like living in Little House in The Prairie ....so safe and lush. This is my dream come true. Enjoy it and treat it well.
What makes this Cabin unique
It's near everything and off of well maintained roads. Close to the grocery, airport, medical, rafting, waterfalls, hiking etc.

Beautiful private retreat
South Mountain was incredibly easy to find, our GPS took us right there and the drive is marked with a sign. The driveway was a breeze with our 4wd rental suv. We considered taking our 2wd and parking at the bottom, but with pets and luggage we are sooooo glad we were able to park at the top. The cabin is beautifully furnished with all the basics you could need. We grilled, cooked in doors, roasted marshmallows over the fire pit and was still close enough to venture to Asheville for a few meals as well. The WiFi is a lifesaver, as we came to find out ATT has very limited signal throughout most of the area (Verizon is the reception winner here). The A/C kept us cool and our 2 small dogs loved being able to explore the yard and different areas around the house. This is truly a cabin in the woods so seeing a large spider or mysterious insect near you isn’t necessarily a surprise but we were surprised at how few bugs actually made it into the cabin! After taking our pets outside a few times a day you would expect more little bugs to find their way in through the opening and closing door, but they didn’t! Such a relief for someone who is terrified of bugs!!!
Michele was such a pleasure to rent from. We had a couple very minor hiccups and after a quick message she was Johnny on the spot, going above and beyond! I can honestly say this was the perfect cabin for my husband and I to take our 2 small dogs on a week long anniversary weekend!! You certainly can’t go wrong renting this gem!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We especially enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. the location was great, not too far from anything. Thanks for a great stay!
Beautiful cabin to getaway from it all.
My family and I had a great time staying here. We took advantage of the horse back riding about 10 minutes down the road. Beautiful views from being up on the mountain especially with all the leaves changing colors. Utilized the fire pit to make smores. Only about 30 minutes from Asheville. You will definitely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get up the driveway as it clearly states in the ad. I would most definitely stay here again. The owner was easily reachable with any concerns or questions. Great place to relax away from the world!
My husband and I wanted to find a place to just get away from it all. This was it. Close enough to enjoy Asheville & all it has to offer but yet be and feel like we were totally away from out all. We loved it. It was very clean and well kept. We sat by a relaxing fire each night and enjoyed breakfast on the deck. It was so peaceful and quiet.
While the driveway is steep and long it was easily manageable with our SUV. (As is clearly noted in the description of the house)
Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. We hope to return again.

Simple, clean home
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin- thank you!
Thank you!!! Come back again soon. Cheers
Feel like your in the middle of nowhere while close to everything
We had a highly enjoyable time at this cabin. It was a great place that I would rent again and recommend.
The cabin was very cute and private. You felt like there were no neighbors. The front porch was great for relaxing and we enjoyed the fire pit.
One of the bonuses was the location. There was a lot within 15 minutes of the cabin. Normally, for cabins that feel this remote you have a min. of 30 min drive down the mountain to reach anything. The town of Marshall was a small, old town but full of people with true southern charm.
As I mentioned, this is place we would rent again and recommend. However, there are two things that I beleive all potential renters need to be fully aware of before they make their decision. These were not deal breakers for us and did not hinder our trip, but they are worth special mention in case they would be a deal breaker for you.
1) The Driveway. While the listing mentions you should have 4-wheel drive to make it up the driveway, it says parking at the bottom and walking up is not a problem. The pictures are deceiving. One shows a look up the driveway and you can see a car park at the bottom frame of the picture. The driveway shown is steep and we assumed that where the car was parked was the bottom of the driveway. Steep, yes, but not a far walk. There is then another picture of the driveway looking down. Seeing it's a down view, it does not look too steep. We thought that part was drivable and just the last bit of the driveway was what was referred to as steep. Being that we do not have a car with 4-wheel drive, and we don't mind walking, we planned on just parking at the bottom and walking. BIGGEST MISTAKE! The driveway is so long and steep that walking with luggage and kids was not possible. We had to rent an SUV just to get our luggage and children up and down the hill. You must have at least one vehical with 4-wheel drive in your party or you will regret staying here.
2) The internet is pretty much a waste. Once you get there, you learn in the welcome book that the internet is poor. Poor is actually an overstatement. Don't plan on being able to access anything through the internet connection. It was hard to even look up addresses of the places we wanted to visit. Luckily, we had cell phone service in the cabin and could use our phones. (Tip - make sure you put addresses into your GPS before you leave the top of the driveway. Signal is low at the bottom.)
I did not know you had difficulty with the internet. I will fix it ASAP nobody has mentioned this to me. It's VERY important for a lot of people to be connected to work so I will fix it. We have never had an issue. In the Welcome book the internet password is what is given to us on the box... it's not supposed to be slow.
Thank you!! We appreciate your details. Cheers!
