The Sail Loft is our private guest apartment. It is designed for two adults & cannot accommodate children under the age of 18. It is an upstairs location that is not wheel chair accessible. It is air conditioned & fully furnished with its own private entrance & parking area. We are located in a small residential neighborhood in East Boothbay that is adjacent to Linekin Bay. We are 2 miles from downtown Boothbay Harbor. There is limited taxi service and we do NOT have UBER or LYFT in Boothbay so a car is required. The Sail Loft has wireless Internet, local phone service and multiple TV channels. In the fully equipped eat in kitchen we provide staple kitchen pantry items & first morning breakfast items to get you started. There is also an adjacent dining area with table & chairs for you to enjoy steamed lobsters from one of our area lobster pounds (we provide bibs, plates, & utensils). There is a private bath with shower & we provide all bath essentials. The private bedroom has a Queen bed, room darkening curtains; ceiling fan; reading lamps; quilts; soft or firm pillows; walk-in closet and an outdoor balcony seating area. The living room has a 40 inch TV, books, magazines & lots of area brochures. There is a fire pit & dining area to enjoy outdoor eating/relaxing. For those who enjoy kayaking/paddle boarding; picnicking (we furnish the basket) or a cool swim, the Sail Loft is approximately 200 yards from our community floating dock where you can swim; off load and launch your personal kayaks/paddle boards & explore Linekin Bay and the Gulf of Maine. Our East Boothbay General Store is within 1 mile walking distance where you can get wonderful sandwiches, pizzas & more. We enjoy walking to the store via the scenic waterfront path along Linekin Bay. Another favorite activity for us is to pick up sandwiches for a picnic at Ocean Point Beach located 4 miles from the Sail Loft. If you are a first time visitor to the Boothbay Peninsular, we recommend several days to enjoy the Boothbay experiences.

About Stan and Gloria Wakefield
We are a retired couple from Florida who have vacationed in the Boothbay area for many years. The appeal of the Boothbay area led us to buy a summer home in 2015 so we could spend even more time in Maine. Stan is a retired naval officer & Gloria is a retired health care consultant. We settled in northeast Florida in 1993. We very much enjoy living in the Boothbay region and it is our great pleasure to be able to share our home with others.
Stan and Gloria Wakefield purchased this Apartment in 2015
Why Stan and Gloria Wakefield chose Boothbay
We have been vacationing in Maine in the Boothbay area for the past ten years to escape Florida summers. We have come to enjoy the small-town environment & scenic beauty offered by the Boothbay region. We selected our home based on its convenient location to Boothbay Harbor & the small, quiet, & friendly neighborhood that provides a picnic area & dock to enjoy Linekin Bay. We are excited to be able to share our community with others.
What makes this Apartment unique
Our fully furnished apartment provides privacy, comfort & a convenient location to enjoy a relaxing vacation in the Boothbay region of Maine. The location of our home, so close to the chilly waters of Linekin Bay, provides for cool nights and pleasant summer days, with an occasional foggy morning or afternoon. Our small neighborhood off the main road ensures quiet evenings and a lovely area for walks. Our location is within a few hours drive of many of Maine's scenic lighthouses; beautiful coastlines; Acadia National Park; & many other mid coast locations.

The best 2 weeks of our trip to Maine!
There wasn’t anything Stan and Gloria hadn’t thought of to make our stay in their incredible over-the-garage apartment more welcoming! A/C for this record breaking hot & humid summer! Check. Blackout curtains in the bedroom? Check. Drying rack in the bathroom? Check. Coffee, tea and breakfast bars, including half & half? Check. Great basket of brochures and binder of info on things to do, places to see and where to eat, along with their personal greetings when we arrived and checked in during our stay to see if we needed anything! We will be back and recommend the Sail Loft to friends,
Perfect for our vacation.
We enjoyed our stay. Stan and Gloria are great people. The apartment was clean and just what we needed. The location was convenient.
Perfect, relaxing and quaint
We loved our stay at the Sail Loft. It was perfect for us to be able to get away and relax. It was very quiet and peaceful. The dock just down the street was beautiful! The apartment was very homey and had everything we needed. Gloria and Stan do a great job of keeping the property and providing the necessities and give lots of ideas of things to do! We highly recommend the Sail Loft!
Lovely, tranquil, private, EVERYTHING WAS THERE....even Spray against ticks. Very attentive!
Never have we visited a holiday home where there was truly nothing left to wish for. A welcoming packet was there and even the Dutch flag was on the house. Coffee, herbs, maple Sirup, Butter, tick spray, bbq coals, everything. It was incredibly carefree to stay at the sail lodge. The two private places to sit outdoors really have quality and are private.
We would recommend staying at the sail lodge. The area is great and the hike tips are wonderfull.
There is a Picknick area at the sea very closely with a wonderful view. Go there!
Thanks so much for having us.
We were honored to host our international guests (Berit Ann & Frank) and would welcome them to return any time. Bedankt voor het bezoeken!!
Lovely spot in beautiful coastal Maine
We've stayed in many rental properties and this was one of the best. A beautiful location, private, quiet, but close to all kinds of great hiking opportunities and amenities. Tastefully decorated, thoughtful touches all round, incredibly clean, and very friendly hosts. Can't say enough to recommend it.
It was a genuine pleasure hosting this couple from north of the border and we would welcome their return any time.
We had a fantastic stay at Gloria and Stan's place. We arrived to find muffins waiting for us, and the place was immaculate. Boothbay is idealic, and there is a quiet dock for swimming just a short walk away from the chalet. We didn't want to leave, and hopefully we'll come again.
We were happy to host Matthew & Vincent during their stay at the Sail Loft and would welcome their return. We endeavor to always provide a clean and comfortable stay for our guests and always welcome recommendations on how we might improve on that.
The SailLoft is located in a tranquil neighborhood adjacent beautiful Linekin Bay in the town of East Boothbay. You can enjoy the neighborhood's deep water access via a floating dock and a small beach located 200 yards from the apartment. Personal kayaks/paddle boards can be off loaded at the dock to enjoy Linekin Bay or venture out to the open ocean & Gulf of Maine. There are picnic tables at the dock for your use after sightseeing. The East Boothbay General Store is a 1 mile walk for great food & much more. Boothbay Harbor & it's many attractions is a 1.5 mile drive to enjoy dining, shopping, night life, boating excursions for whale, seal and puffin watching & island hopping. Monhegan Island is a favorite day trip; Burnt Island Light is an interactive experience with live performers & Cabbage Island is a favorite visit for an authentic Maine lobster feast.
