Perfect for exploring South Devon enjoying stunning views across the valley
Cross the old humpback bridge over the river Avon and you will arrive in Garabridge. A quiet, pretty neighbourhood with a cluster of houses, the old station and platform still exist (now a home ) where once ran the steam train from Dartmoor to the coast at Kingsbridge, you can walk part of the original railway route along the river to Topsham Bridge. A mile away is Blackdown Rings (Iron Age Fort) which is an interesting walk with panoramic views across the South Hams. The nearest shop is about 1.5 miles away, a well-stocked Spar shop at the service station, also next to this is a locally grown fresh fruit and veg stall with an honesty box, this little stall is well recommended. There are various supermarkets in all the towns. If it's not a beach day families can enjoy days out at a number of excellent rainy day attractions or organised outdoor activities (detailed leaflets in property). Our superb coastline is part of the South West Coast Path, explore...... calm or stormy skies the scenery is truly inspirational. The towns of Dartmouth, Modbury and Kingsbridge are all within easy reach. All historically interesting, each with their own individual character. I am easily contacted and living in the area, I can meet guests if they wish which can be arranged prior to arrival . beautiful cottage in a secluded location surrounded by nature
This cottage is larger than it appears in the photos. The owners have lovingly decorated it to a high standard and it is well equipped and immaculate. The pool is wonderful with timed jets and is kept at a good temperature.
The location is a great base for walks straight from the doorstep. The owners' folder is really helpful with the local attractions and eateries. In addition we found
The Old Inn, Halwell a 10 min drive away has a good selection of home cooked vegetarian food. Cafe Decks at Kingsbridge does a great lunch and is perfectly located by the estuary and a quiet park. We would highly recommend this cottage.
Lovely secluded property
Everything we needed for a relaxing break. Would recommend to others without hesitation
I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage. The accommodation was excellent and the swimming pool was the icing on the cake.
