About Marilou Haines
My name is Marilou, I am the mom. Although the kids grew up and live in all four corners of the country they are often back and one or the other are most of the time with me. I am the one in charge taking care of the fruits of their father's work and my work. Our family moved from the San Diego North County in the late 1990s and Hot Springs is now our home.
Marilou Haines purchased this House in 2000
Why Marilou Haines chose Hot Springs
Hot Springs is a historic city. We love the notion that this part of the country has been inhabited for centuries and that it has kept its flair of the past. The charm of the city is that houses in the inner city are mostly unique, which does not happen in newer neighborhoods where all houses are built at the same time and look exactly the same. We bought this house thinking about that our children may want to come and live with us in Hot Springs and be happy. We love this place because it is in a nice older neighborhood close to everything. The house itself is full of light, roomy, comfortable, very homey, and friendly. We would move to the Summer House in a heart beat and be entirely content if it weren't for the fact that we already have a house very close to this one.
What makes this House unique
Hot Springs is a city of fun activities. This property is ideal for a family of six, or a group of friends looking for a place where one can gather to talk and enjoy each other, to eat home cooked meals, to spend time playing games, or simply relaxing after long active days. One can spend time together in many areas inside or outside, to then retire into one of the beautiful bedrooms and have a good night.

Perfect little home for our visit to Hot Springs
The house was clean and well kept. Close to town and 15 mins from Mid-America, Magic Springs, and Bathhouse Row.
This house was just what we needed for our stay. It was very clean and the neighborhood was quiet. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of seating for 5 adults and an infant. We were able to place a blanket on the floor for our granddaughter to get tummy time and play with her toys. Much better than staying in a noisy hotel!
Family trip to Hot Springs
Nice little house. Off the beaten path. Nice and clean. House needs a complete remodel. Extremely outdated. Toilets very low, was hard for my aged father to get up from. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
The property was clean inside and out. It was welcoming from the outside and had curb appeal,
The property is located in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. It is out of the way of the hub bub of activity on the main thorough fare, but very close to all of the action. It is centrally located to all Hot Springs activities and is especially close to the race track. It has a warm and cozy atmosphere and decor. The inside is very comfortable and feels like home. Everything you need is there, even a washer and dryer. We will return!
Nice house, But.......
The good: House was nice, close to everything! It was nicely stocked with most items needed. Outside area pleasant enough. The bad: Only one tv and it was in the living room. Appeared to be about a 32 in. Big enough, but not with a house full. Toilets are the short ones, around 15 inches high, felt like you were sitting a kids potty, more than an adult toilet. Manual can opener in the kitchen sucked!! I nearly didnt get the can opened I was working on. No ice machine in fridge, but there are ice trays. Unless you want to constantly empty/refill I suggest buying a bag of ice. This may sound like im nick picking, but was asked to provide a review. Despite the negative things Ive listed, I would still recommend this place, it was comfortable, and way better than a motel room.
The owner is super nice and the House was charming.
This property is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood close to the race track, the historic district, the lakes, and all other attractions that Hot Springs has to offer. The ride to the Oaklawn race track takes just 3 minutes bypassing the traffic. Getting to the heart of the city, "Bathhouse Row" with its many attractions, takes only 8 minutes and Lake Hamilton is a mere 10 minutes away. Wherever you want to go, there is a quick access path from this house.
