About Kim Gagnon

We are avid preservationist and loved finding homes with great bones, but needing new life.

New Orleans has been a great place to follow our passion restoring these gems.

Thank you New Orleans!

From Maine and Ohio

Kim Gagnon purchased this cottage in 2002

Why Kim Gagnon chose Uptown

It was a sad property in our neighborhood. We had to look at it everyday.

Then Katrina blew through.

This is the first space we renovated once returning to all of our property needing serious

attention. What joy to have one place of zen during all of the chaos.

What makes this cottage unique

It is in a convenient location, a good spot for getting all around town, on public transit, United Cab 504-522-9771, around the corner on the park. Uber is handy as well.

Our public transit site is www.norta.com

Perfect for our needs!

  • 5 of 5

This studio apartment was spacious, clean, very comfortable (couch, chair, bed),quiet, and nicely decorated. The St. Charles streetcar was a quick walk a few blocks away and bargain transportation but we did have to wait a couple of times. Mostly though the streetcar was there w/in 10-15 minutes. Also it’s a good way to see different neighborhoods. We never met the owner but she corresponded instruction on how to get the key and left a note with suggestions for dining and how to reach her if needed (we didn’t need to). Great alternative to a hotel!

Perfect for our needs!

Perfect location, a 10 minute walk to the trolley to go into downtown. Everything was just as pictured/described. When we come back to NOLA in the future, I definitely will attempt to stay here again!

Quiet elegance

  • 5 of 5

First off, Kim and her husband Giles, are the nicest people. They left us a beautiful welcome letter that made us feel like friends instead of guest. Second, what can I say about Le Niche that will do it justice? It is beautifully appointed with elegant and comfortable furnishings. The courtyard out front was perfectly secluded from the bustle of New Orleans. It was a perfect hideaway after our long days of fun all over the city. The best part? It was only four blocks from the streetcar! Im already planning my next trip to NOLA and this will be my go to for as long they will have me!

Perfect size, perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

What a nice experience for our 4 day stay in New Orleans. Located in a quiet quaint neighborhood with the Garden District and nice restaurants nearby. We used the St. Charles street car for our transportation needs for a scenic and leisurely ride to the Quarter and beyond. Kim was always checking in on us to make sure all was well. Highly recommended.

clean and quiet, nice neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

not quite the old world charm we were hoping for, but certainly very clean, quiet, and comfortable.

beautiful building in front is being remodeled; there was no active construction that disturbed us.

a few more supplies would have been helpful...tea? sugar or milk for coffee?

instruction book-nearest store, etc. would be nice. couldn't figure out how to get anything but channel 6 on TV, and needed instructions on how to work the heater. (we did figure it out).

lovely part of town; near the streetcar and Audubon Park and away from the more intense downtown.
