Located on East 62nd Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue, the Madison Suite sits on the 3rd floor of the 5-story 19th century Upper East Side Townhouse and consists of two rear bedrooms, one queen and one twin, in addition to a large front room with another queen bed and adjacent open living area. There is no elevator.
The furnished 4-room, convertible 3-bedroom NYC home extends to nearly 1000 SF, is plenty spacious and loaded with turn-of-the-century elegance. The apartment’s airy expansiveness is further enhanced by the approximately 10 foot ceilings and parquet-style hardwood floors, both of which extend throughout the suite. Two decorative marble fireplaces, sure to draw the eye in and give perspective to the spacious suite, are found: one in the larger rear bedroom and one near the front, dividing the sitting area from the queen bed there. With it’s location 3 flights above the house’s main ground floor entry hall, the apartment will reward you with two high-perched but radically diverging views, from the front and the back of this full-floor suite.
Hardwood flooring, high ceilings, crown molding and many beautiful antique furnishings offer unique character and an old-world charm. Abundant natural light.
The sitting area of this space gives plenty of room for family and friends, with a sofa, coffee table, antique armoire and two padded armchairs. The room has two windows to East 62nd Street, and a marble fireplace mantle, adding old New York charm. At the same end of the apartment is a small bedroom with twin bed (sleeps 1). It's one window faces the garden side of the townhouse. All beds are U.S. Standard size beds.The large front room has a queen-sized bed, a sofa, two windows, an ornate decorative fireplace, TV, and a large standing wardrobe.
There is one full bathroom, comprising a tub/shower, WC, and sink. Access the kitchen as well as a breakfast nook overlooking the tree-lined street below. Full appliances including a dishwasher, this kitchen provides an excellent place to prepare a home-cooked meal. The kitchen is located just off the front room of the apartment and contains a windowed dining nook area with a round table and chairs. The dining nook, offering that picturesque northern view accompanying morning coffee or dining, has a convincing claim on the most delightful eating spot in the building, and it’s no shoo-in contest! The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need to cook and enjoy your simple homemade meals: a stove, oven, fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster oven and dishwasher. *There's a monthly a/c monthly charge of $125. A/C is optional and is available in the months of June-September.
*The housekeeping, utilities and the a/c fees are prorated depending on the length of your stay.
*Sales Tax is due for all stays under 181 days. For the first 90 days of occupancy 8.875% (NYS 4.375%+ NYC 4.5%) + plus 5.875% (total 14.75%) + 1.50 per day + $2/night/room occupancy tax (total $3.50 per night). Once the 90th day is met you can request a refund from the state for the ‘state’ level of taxes (4.375%) plus the $1.50 per night fee. The city 4.5% tax is still applicable. For the 91st to 180th day of occupancy 4.50% + 5.875% + $2/room/night. For any period after 181 days, no tax is due. When the 90/180 days are met a refund claim can be filed.

The Brownstone is situated in the much sought after LENOX HILL neighborhood of the Historic Upper East side section of Manhattan and a short walk to CENTRAL PARK and New York's finest shopping district on Madison Avenue. The House's location, a quiet residential enclave for some of New York's most prestigious addresses, enjoys the best of both worlds – serene privacy and un-matched convenience. The neighborhood abounds with tasteful, exclusive boutiques and charming, international restaurants. Yet, the house is only three blocks from bustling Midtown and some of the City's fabulous and world renown museums & galleries including the Frick, The Metropolitan and MoMa.
The beautiful brownstone building is conveniently located within walking distance to the Met, Carnegie Hall, the Frick Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, Central Park Zoo & the Ice Skating Rink, Rockefeller Center. We are in a perfect location for NYC Marathon Runners - as we are very close to the finish line! The East River Esplanade is approximately a 25 minute walk.

Transportation in the neighborhood is excellent. One block away is the F train and the new Q extension. The Q stops in Times Square, offering many transfer options. Two blocks away are the 4, 5, 6, N, R. Grand Central Station is one subway stop away (taking the 4 or 5 one stop from 59th street to Grand Central Station. Southbound buses can be found along Lexington Avenue (62nd street) and northbound buses on Madison or Third Avenue (63rd Street). The subway will take you to the Southern tip of the city (Freedom Towers - 9/11 Memorial) within 20 min.
