Fantastic place. Just what we were looking for.
There was plenty of space, clean and well organized. A great yard for games. Bugs were plentiful, but to be expected in June. Definitely recommend.
Great, Secluded Location
My group had a wonderful lime in the Tranquil retreat. The property is more than adequate for larger groups with plenty of activity space. I would recommend the Tranquil Retreat for a weekend with a group! The basement bar and pool area was great!
It says scrapbooking retreat, but really its just peaceful.
The kitchen is 100% functional. Oven, microwave, propane grill, fire pit, and pool table are all in great condition. Kitchen is fully stocked. All we had to do was bring food and beverages. We made margaritas with the blender, pancakes with the griddle, and OMG did I mention it has a soaker tub. We had 5-6 people take long baths in that tub (not at once, as it is a one person soaker tub).
The billiards table was perfect for the relaxing guys weekend that we were looking for. There is a large space with a bunch of tables. We didn't really use this room at all because we weren't there for scrapbooking. The fire pit is a little bit of a walk (30 yards) from the house, but is a perfect spot for bags (bean bag toss, corn hole), horseshoes, or other yard games. Firewood is not provided.
Has both an upper deck and a lower patio. We easily manage to accommodate all 8 of us (eight 25-30 year olds). The best part about this place was not that it was remote, but that it was remote enough. The nearest grocery store was 20 minutes away, the casino was 30 minutes with traffic. If your looking to rent a boat on Mille Lacs or hire a guide, this would be a great place to stay. Its a quick drive to the lake (15-20 minutes), but its still peaceful.
Scenery at night as fantastic. Very little light pollution out there so all the stars were visible.
I give this place a 5 out of 5 because every single person at this place was astounded by nice it was. Pictures did not do it justice. It was fantastically maintained, and no one had to share a bed. Definitely a great value for the price. I would highly recommend for anyone who wants to be up north, and does not require a lakefront property. Has great charm and a good theme throughout the cabin.
