Very peaceful, relaxing
Felt at home. The heaters sure helped.
Perfect place, clean, serene and calm
Will stay again if visit Hawaii Volcanoes Park again.
Mahalo! Warm wishes for the New Year! A hui hou (until we meet again)
Beautiful home set in a fern forest - the pictures don't do it justice!
We enjoyed our stay very much in this modern one story home set inside a rain forest just one mile from Volcano National Forest. It is very quiet and peaceful at the house with exotic Hawaii birds coming around. Lots of window to see the plants and birds, but private in that there are just a few houses around, all separated by the fern forest foliage. Restaurants and shopping is nearby.
It is slightly rustic in that it is a 100 yard dirt road to the house (and other houses on this quiet little one lane "street"), the water at the house is collected rainwater - filtered so it is safe for showering, washing dishes and washing your hands, but you shouldn't drink it (drinking water s provided), and no central heating - but more than enough portable heaters to make the house as toasty as you wish.
We will absolutely stay hear again!!
We're so happy that you enjoyed our Hale and it's surroundings! Mahalo for your gracious comments.
A hui hou (until we meet again)
We're so happy we could share Hapu'u Hale with you! Sending you the warmth of Volcano to get you through the winter;)
Love this spot!
We had a very comfortable 3 night stay. Everything you need is provided. Quality bed linens & towels. Comfortable beds. This is a great location for viewing VNP and staying until dark. I would suggest an ironing board & iron (I know, who irons on vacay?!) Our clothes were very wrinkled but in the end we decided --who cares! We never did use the tv as we couldn't figure out the instructions for the cable (this was on us) but the wifi was great so we didn't need to watch tv. We did have a very rainey day so went into Hilo for a movie but otherwise it was perfect! If I were alone I could do an extended stay to read & write. Lovely. The owner is very responsive and accomodating.
