About the property

Private, secluded, 1 bedroom casita. Nestled at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains. Access to miles of bike trails and minutes from Mt. Lemmon Highway. Very close to the back side of Sabino Canyon where there is free parking. This is a lovely state park that offers miles of hiking and has a beautiful stream. 7 Falls is just 1 of many great hikes! The casita is located in Northeast Tucson in an area called the Tanque Verde Valley. Known for it's magnificent Mesquite trees and cooler temps. About Joan

We have lived in the Tanque Verde Valley for over 30 years. We love it here and know that you will too! We are here to help in any way that we can to make your stay enjoyable.

Joan purchased this cottage in 2016

Why Joan chose Tres Lomas North

Our Casita is well outfitted and very comfortable. It sits on almost an acre of lush land but is just a short drive to town. It is separate from the main house and has a nice area surrounding it that is just for guests.

What makes this cottage unique

Minutes from Mt. Lemmon and Sabino Canyon. 2 golf courses are close by. Great bike paths! Shopping just 5 minutes away.

An wonderful little casita in a great location, hosted by two of the most gracious people imaginable

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. The casita is quiet, comfortable, unique in its decor, and equipped with everything necessary for an extended stay. Joan and Michael are wonderful hosts, gracious, understanding, and helpful, they have gone out of their way to make our stay here a singular delight. Their two dogs, Ranger and Puppers are complete angels, canine concierges would be a more apt description and the neighborhood the casita is in, is a dog lovers delight. We traveled here with out cat, and she has given it a paws up and took less than a day to adapt to her new palace. Another great aspect of our stay has been the abundance of wildlife and desert plants that we've seen here. From javalinas to coyotes, road runners to quail, rabbits to ground squirrels, it's like living in a wildlife sanctuary. The location is also convenient to Sabino Canyon for hiking, Catalina Highway for access to Mt. Lemmon, and a quick drive to an almost endless list of things to see and do, including Tombstone, the Sierra Vista Riparian Environment, the Sonoran Desert Museum, Colossal Cave. I could go in and on, the fact is if you'll not find s better place in all of Tucson in which to stay. Joan and Michael have gone to considerable lengths to insure that anyone who stays here will have a delightful time. They have compiled a book of attractions, restaurants and menus, trips to take, stores, etc., and will share their own knowledge and insights if you should ask. They are there if you need anything, accommodating in every way imaginable, personal, fun, sensitive, and two of the best people we have ever met. If you stay anywhere else in Tucson you are missing out on an experience you'll remember as one of the best you could hope for.

Steve and Kathy Carr, June 2018.

Comfy, Colorful, Tranquil and Accommodating

  • 5 of 5

A lovely area with hiking very close and the city within reach when you want it. This part of town is such a magical oasis! Joan and Michael have put so much time, care and love into their rental and they really strive to meet all your needs. Friendly and accommodating, but my husband and I also felt that we had our privacy. You will love the colorful and comfy vibe of this Casita! It has everything you will need to feel like you can make yourself at home.

Perfect desert retreat

  • 5 of 5

The Casita has beautiful decor, high end finishes, and very friendly hosts who live next door. We had everything we needed and much more! We are so thankful we booked it. It is just a short walk to mountain trails and a short drive to everything you want to do and see in Tucson. We sat on the porch with coffee each day to enjoy the spectacular views and rolled open our windows at night to enjoy the cool desert breezes. If you are visiting the area - do not settle for a hotel room - stay here! It is perfect <3

Fantastic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this place. You can’t help but be happy in this cheerful and colorful casita. Everything was spotlessly clean and welcoming. There were so many extra touches that made the weekend really special, including great information on things to do, extra batteries for the remote, a magnified mirror in the bathroom, and, of course, the margaritas and fresh lime in the fridge when we arrived. Joan was very helpful and I wish I could be her “failure to launch” daughter so I could hang out in the casita for a few months!
