The New owners in spring of 2016 of Cabin on Zeke's Trail have made many new improvements. The cabin is cozy, comfortable and offers a view that is "Almost Heaven". The Cabin is a 2 bed/2 bath, (sleeps 6 with futon in living room), with Queen beds in both bedrooms. The open-concept living area has 15 ft- high oak ceilings, hardwood floors and views from every room. It is fully furnished with central heat /ac + a fully equipped kitchen. Located just below the crest of Greybeard Mt, off a well maintained gravel road, the cabin is in a private setting with a view that promises to "Wow" you.
Sit in one of the four rocking chairs on the front porch, cool off under new ceiling fans, relax and enjoy the view. There is also a new deck off the porch with built in benches, a new infrared gas grill and a new deck box/table. At night you might enjoy sitting around the new Chiminea for a camp fire in the side yard. Our cabin has a flat screen TV with satellite, DVD player, gas fireplace, WIFI, outdoor grill and many other amenities.
Some of the nearby activities and points of interest are the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the John Campbell Folk School, the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Lake Santeetlah, Lake Hiawassee, the Saturday Morning Market in downtown Murphy, and the Smoky Mountain Railroad, for starters. Enjoy hiking, biking, bird watching, or boating and swimming in the beautiful lakes nearby. Our cabin is close to white-water rafting, tubing, gem-mining, golfing, horseback riding, fishing, shopping, summer and fall festivals. The Murphy area offers some of the best trout, bass, walleye and striper fishing in the southeast. Excellent trout fishing can be found in the Valley River only 2.5 miles from cabin. The area is also renowned for its fall foliage.
The new Harrah's Casino is only 5 miles away. We hope you chose to stay at our cozy cabin and experience a view that will prompt a "Wow!...when you see it.
*****Zeke’s Trail is a one-lane gravel road and in some spots, is very steep. A four wheel drive or AWD vehicle is preferable but other vehicles need to be put in low drive and maintain a speed of 10 to 15 mph both up and down the hill. This will eliminate spinning of wheels and destruction to the road****** No motorcycles, ATV's, trailers or RV's are allowed.******
