*** The Villa rental rates for July / August are normally set at £2500 to £3000 per week, however as this is a new build located in a new development with work still going on to surrounding properties, we are offering the villa just short of a 50% discount for 2018 bringing the price per week peak season down to circa £1000.
This is far lower than any other similar villa in the area currently on the market, however we want to be transparent with guests so they know what to expect. So what does this mean for you, other than a substantial saving on the list price? The builders usually work Monday to Friday which can result in some site related noise, dust (although when it’s windy in Spain you tend to get sand covering your outdoor furniture anyway!) and perhaps not the best immediate view from the villa itself.
Our expectation is that the properties immediately surrounding the villa will be almost complete by the end of November to mid December meaning the noise & general disruption will be greatly reduced for our guests by then.
The villa itself is also gated and completely enclosed with privacy screening on the fencing. Even with the work going on, once you are laying on the sun beds with a cold drink in your hand it’s hardly noticeable***
Welcome to Villa Mariposa. Mariposa means butterfly in Spanish which for us represents flight, freedom and dreams.
As a family we love our holidays. I can’t think of anything better than sitting by the pool outside a villa somewhere hot enjoying the sun on my face with a good book beside me; the blissful feeling of complete relaxation. No work stress, no life stress; just you, the sun and that book you have been meaning to read for months.
Unfortunately, this usually lasts for all of two minutes before our Daughter interrupts to tell me the WiFi is down again, followed by my teenage Son complaining that he can’t find any English channels on the one TV which regrettably for everyone else is in the only communal area.
It was at that moment we realised things needed to change; during a Greek villa trip our Spanish adventure began...
Villa Mariposa is a new build property located in Ciudad Quesada which is around 30 minutes from Alicante & Murcia airports.
There are four colour themed bedrooms; two of which can be set up with either twin or a king size bed, one with a king size bed and one with a double bed. There are also three very large double Sofa beds available. The villa can comfortably sleep 11 with 3 on sofa beds or up to 14 if there are lots of kids in the group with 2 on each sofa bed; just imagine the fun of the biggest sleepover you have ever seen!
**SATURDAY TO SATURDAY BOOKINGS ONLY PLEASE - 7 OR 14 DAYS (LONGER STAYS ON REQUEST). If you do need to check out early then please arrange this in advance**
This is a 4 bed designer Villa with top of the range kit, exclusive designer furniture, fully loaded kitchen with Nespresso coffee machine, food blender, sandwich grill and fresh orange juicer. There is enough matching crockery, plates, platters, BBQ tools and cutlery for everyone. Each bathroom has its own 1800 watt hair dryer and contemporary light up mirror. Two bathrooms have walk in showers and one has a full size bath.
Outside you will find three terraces complete with contemporary outside designer furniture, a day bed on the solarium with removal sun shade, two fully loaded BBQs (one gas and one charcoal) and a utility area with washing machine & iron / ironing board. There is a huge outdoor table and chairs next to the sliding doors to the living room with overhead high power patio heater for alfresco dining even in the cooler months.
So Villa Mariposa really has it all; 6 Smart flat screen TVs (complete with full Netflix subscription), 2 hard drives with over 2000 movies, a separate cinema room with surround sound from a soundbar & subwoofer, Sky HD, Bose Bluetooth audio systems, outside bluetooth speakers on the solarium and patio terrace, WiFi on all four floors and a FULLY heated pool 365 day of the year.
You are less than 10 mins from 3 dozen restaurants, bars, cafes, less than 4 mins to the supermarkets, shops and post office, 7 mins to the beach (Voted the best beach in Spain with MEGA blue flags and very safe with lots of cafes, restaurants and a board walk).
The pool is lit up at night and is 6x4mtrs. It’s 1.8 mtr at the deep end with full width steps for access and the best bit is its FULLY HEATED to 30 degrees every day of the year. The pool comes with a cover which drastically improves the pool temperature so please do use when not in use or the pool will lose so much heat you won’t even notice it’s heated. You will also find a range of toys for the pool & beach in the storage boxes in the garden.

There are more than a hundred night bars, the majority concentrated in the so-called El Baluarte area in the La Punta district, which have become a major attraction for thousands of people from all over the world. - Beaches The many Blue flag beaches of Torrevieja, Guadamar del Segura, and Santa Pola are all within a 10 gto 15 minutes drive. - Cuisine The local cuisine in Ciudad Quesada is typically that of the Costa Blanca, which combines delicacies from both land and the Mediterranean Sea. Many civilizations have lived in this area (Celts, Iberians, Greeks, Romans, Muslims), all of which have all left their mark on the gastronomy.
The diet in Ciudad Quesada is a typically, healthy Mediterranean one; the Costa Blanca is rich in fish, vegetables, olive-oil, rice and fruit and the ingredients which are all used to prepare delicious, healthy dishes, such as Paella Valenciana, Arroz Negro (black rice), Arroz al horno (Oven baked rice), Arroz a banda (fish and rice stew), Arroz del Señoret (Princes rice).
