About Pippa Purcell
A native of nowhere in particular, I have been living in Charlotte, NC for eighteen years. I am a licensed massage therapist and have three kids. I am hoping to live in Terrace Vista when I retire, but until then am renting it out to others and visiting when I can!
Pippa Purcell purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Pippa Purcell chose Chimney Rock
While thinking about getting out of the big city (Charlotte, NC) I met a patient at the hospital where I work who mentioned that she was selling her house in the mountains. I decided to take a look and made an offer the same day. Chimney Rock is a cute town that is far enough away from everything to feel like I'm getting away, but close to home (Charlotte) and within close proximity of Asheville if I want to get some culture.
What makes this Cabin unique
This house is not too small and not too big. It has enough space to give yourself some space, but is modest in its size so it isn't too much to take care of. I am hoping to add some updates over the years so please feel free to offer advice!

Cozy Quick Getaway
We really enjoyed this cabin n its location. Standing on the front deck n looking at Chimney Rock was breathtaking. We loved cooking out n the hot tub. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away for a few days or for an extended stay,
Fun stay, but could use some attention
Overall a good place, but needs some attention and workable dryer.
House is in the perfect location, and was very comfortable.
House a little dated, but to me was a big part of its charm. No WiFi, but we had a blast with the collection of board games and movies. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to chimney rock.
Overall it is a comfy, convenient, quaint cabin on the side of a mountain. A great rustic getaway.
Perfect for what we were looking for and we look forward to returning! Felt very safe and comfortable there for our indoor cat, thank you for that. Comfy bed, comfy seating, good kitchen with super clean fridge. The stairs would be tough for someone with mobility issues, not a problem for us, though. Owner communication was great. Be back next year ☺
Can't beat the location!
Communication with the owner, Pippa, was great, and checking in and out of the cabin was very convenient. The cabin, furnishings and most appliances are older, but in a charming sort of way. There was plenty of room, the beds were comfortable, and the sheets were soft. The hot tub was a great bonus, but the real highlight of this cabin was the location right in Chimney Rock. You could see the mountains through the trees, a slice of the Broad River from the deck, and you could hear the rushing water. Practically right across the street was a small municipal park on the river and a couple shops. Just a short walk to the west was the main drag with most of the shops, restaurants and activities Chimney Rock had to offer. A short drive to the west and you're in Lake Lure. It was so nice being right there and spending our time enjoying the local attractions instead of spending a lot of time driving to and from them. Thanks, Pippa!
Last Minute Winter Trip
I just want to thank owner for accepting our request at the last minute. The cabin is a lil rustic and all that was lacking was the snow! It did take a while to warm the whole cabin/house, especially the back room. Discovered what stink bugs are... they are harmless & one must make sure to not leave door open so they don't fly in! What do you expect, you are in the mountains! :)
Just some minor details that we had to deal with but all in all a great lil place to stay while you visit the surrounding areas. Never got the chance to use the "Cool" old oven but the microwave & stove worked just fine. We really enjoyed the hot tub (it did take a long time to warm up); call ahead of time & make sure to request it to be ready when you arrive. We will definitely come back! Thanks Mrs. Purcell! Blessings to ya!
Located within walking distance of Chimney Rock State Park as well as quaint downtown Chimney Rock. Lake Lure is less than 5 minutes away.
