The Foundation @ OGH is about as eclectic and uniquely New Orleans as it gets... This renovated space has an expansive open feel which combines things new, salvaged, re-invented, old, & colorful, a mixture of styles and textures that blend into a beautifully furnished space with no amenity or detail left undone! It offers one king, bunk twins, stained cement floors, concrete counters, gorgeous bath (with chandelier!) and beautiful detail and furnishings throughout.

ORLEANS GUEST HOUSE is steps from Bayou Saint John, a short walk to City Park, NOMA, and 24h Cafe Au Lait & Beignets,The Fairgrounds & Jazz Fest, blocks to the Carrollton Street Car line, and a bike ride to the French Quarter, CBD, Arts District, River Front, Downtown and much, MUCH more... Units at OGH are independent, no common or shared areas, each with private keyed entrances and reserved off-street parking. The Foundation, just like the other units at OGH- is as unique as the city of NOLA!

Guest Access

You’ll have total privacy with keys to your exclusive entry & exit. This is not shared space as with a traditional B&B setting. I live on-site (and available if needed) but, as an on-site host, my philosophy is based on total respect for your privacy. If you do need me, I’m there! I believe in mutual respect for privacy while remaining always available for needs or recommendations. In your room, you will have a guide to just about everything, but as a local (and a foodie) I’m happy to recommend my favorite "local" stuff to do!

I’m Wendy and this is Graham. We are not only your hosts at OGH but we live here, too! I am honored and excited that you’re considering or have chosen my home and Guest House for your trip to NOLA. I was born and raised in New Orleans and genuinely love everything about this city… from it’s eclectic culture, cuisine, and history to my amazing neighborhood, neighbors, and small piece of the most unique city in America! Rent a kayak or canoe and row up Bayou Saint John or go for a short walk to City Park… 7 square miles of historic oaks, 24-hour coffee and beignets, NOMA, festivals, horseback riding, walking/jogging paths, a dog park, amusement park, botanical gardens, world-class museum and outdoor sculpture garden, tennis, 4 golf courses, and much, much more.

This space is truly unique! It is a preservationist's dream. Its architecture is a mix of classic and contemporary, and historic and hip. There is too much restored items and re-invented architectural gems to mention. Even better than the photos depict, you won't be disappointed!

What a wonderful apartment with a great location and a super host!

My three friends and I stayed at Wendy's apartment for our trip to Jazz Fest in May. Wendy allowed us to check in early and this was very much appreciated. She met us at the apartment and gave us a tour. She had added so much to this unique space. So many original pieces, some with an interesting history. Wendy explained where she acquired some of the artistic elements in the apartment which she helped build and decorate. Everything was custom made.

We had four adults staying here and Wendy let us know ahead of time it might be a tight squeeze. Due to every inch of the space being used and planned out, we felt like we had ample room. It was such an easy short walk to Jazz Fest. We loved the location and walked to restaurants and a nearby beer garden in mid-city.

Wendy was very responsive to my emails before we arrived and and answered my questions. She even called to obtain our ETA so she could greet us on arrival. Wendy left us a bottle of wine which we enjoyed one evening sitting around a gorgeous glass topped table with very comfortable bar stools.

I highly recommend this unique apartment. It is great for two people with a very comfortable king size bed. Children would enjoy the bunk bed. Wendy also has a two bedroom apartment at the same location and we are considering renting that next year for the 4 of us. I would definitely return to this eclectic apartment with a friend or my husband. Thank you, Wendy, for your hospitality and sharing this wonderful eclectic apartment.

She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and more. You can’t stay at a better location. It’s close enough to everything and everywhere you want to be in NOLA while having serenity to relax and enjoy your vacation. The design of OGH is stunning! This was our first time to NOLA and it was nothing short of amazing. We can’t wait to return. Wendy is very sweet and accommodating.

A Great Place to Stay

I stayed here for over 4 months. The Foundation was the perfect place for me to stay while I was working at MAF. Wendy has done an extraordinary job with this place. Very clean and very well decorated. Wendy was the ideal host, she went out of her way to make me feel welcome. The location is close to shopping and many great restaurants. Only a short UBER ride to the French Quarter. Mid City is a great place to stay and visit. A short walk to City Par and the Horse Track. I would highly recommend this place. I will definitely return. Stunning studio, super clean and great location!!!

My husband and I stayed at the Foundation for a long weekend and fell in love with it. First of all, the location cannot be beat. You can walk to the streetcar or Uber to the quarter. The studio is dead sexy and decorated to perfection. The bed was super comfortable. The attention to detail was not lost on us. Every square inch was thought out brilliantly. We were very comfortable in the studio and having young children in the bunk beds would work very well. Our favorite thing about the condo, was Wendy! We will be back.

Owner's Response: What a pleasure it was hosting your stay! As an owner, hosting a wonderful stay is always the goal- it is especially easy to do with certain guests. Of course cleanliness and being considerate are desirable qualities to find in guests, but hosting a memorable stay is a breeze when guests are as lovely and genuine as Michelle and her husband. My only request is that they return, next time with kids! They are always welcomed in my home...I hope this was just the first of many stays to come!

Wish we could've stayed in NOLA longer!

Wendy was the best host! The house is really close to the streetcar line which can take you to all of the spots around town that you probably came there to see. It is also really close to City Park which is the prettiest area to ride a bike or explore if you want to take a break from downtown or the busier areas. Everything you'll need during your stay is in the apartment and Wendy was always there to answer our questions or give us ideas of restaurants or spots to go! This was an especially good place to stay for Mardi Gras because you got a break from all the loud and busy streets and the area is super charming!

An increadible NOLA vacation that began and ended in a creation of authentic New Orleans charm

Our family stayed here from December 19th to January 5th. This residence is in a great spot and made it easy to get around New Orleans. We were pleasantly met by our host. She walked us through the place and explained the ins and outs of the studio. She made us feel at home, offered great dining ideas and told of places we may find interesting. Our children really enjoyed the bunk bed and slept well through the nights. Our bed was very comfortable as well, often sleeping late into morning as the room is very quiet. We were originally intrigued by the unique look and decoration when we booked, we were not disappointed. Items have been gathered from all around New Orleans and turned into art, you feel as you are part of New Orleans. There is a great Cuisinart cook top that can be used to grill sandwiches. The grill opened up into two halves, we boiled water (patience needed), fried eggs and bacon. There is also a toaster oven that we used daily. We will never forget the memory of baking cookies Christmas Eve in New Orleans in the toaster oven for Santa. We also never paid more than $10 to Uber from this location to the Superdome or to the French Quarter. When we return to New Orleans our stay will be based on the studios availability. This is truly an amazing start and finish to everyday while vacationing. It was truly priceless to feel at home and comfortable.

I am a small operation and much attention is given to detail and guest comfort. With only 3 full-time units available at this location, and one part-time, the terms of 100% advance payment policy is necessary to insure proper follow-through regarding collection of all costs associated with reservations. I recognize that under certain circumstances, cancellation becomes necessary- Therefore, I am happy to provide a refund for those who cancel within a window of 30 days prior to check-in, providing reasonable time to re-book or fill the newly created vacancy. REGARDING PRICE "NEGOTIATION";
At OGH, we take great pride in the high quality of accommodations provided in each unit. Great attention to detail has been part of the design and luxury you will enjoy in each unit offered through OGH. Its the reason that so many of our guests become trusted friends and "regulars" who return year after year. Also, by nature, NOLA doesn't have a definable on & off season. Perhaps Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest may be highlights, but year-round, day to day, month-to-month, literally... there is something special for everyone. Rather than raising prices for Mardi Gras and adjusting again for other popular times such as Jazz Fest or Essence Fest, etc... we set a reasonably and fairly priced rates for the unusual quality, safety, and location we provide. It represents a sense of fairness and mutual respect that keeps our guests (and owners) comfortable in knowing that prices will not increase during festival & other event times when most do increase (sometimes substantially), & that you will receive the same standard of luxury & very reasonable pricing year-round. New Orleans is a "year-round" city, and so are our rates! Thank you for respecting the business policies of our small but HIGH-quality operation! We look forward to your stay!
