This bright, sunny and colorful Classic New England coastal home is idealy situated on quaint and private Briar Neck, surrounded by of sea roses. It is a 3 minute walk to Good Harbor,Long Beach and PRIVATE 'Briar Neck Beach'(away from the crowds!!). The house is very spacious and great for large and/or extended families. Leave your car and walk to the beaches, shower off in the h/c outside, grill & eat on patio and then walk to ice cream after dinner!! Does it get any better??? Come enjoy the island's best beach location this summer and DON'T wait as this books full every summer!!

We are completing a full renovation w/new kitchen, bathrooms, lighting, etc. and is painted w/soothing colors of the sea, white washed hardwood floors and exposed beams. A huge cathedral living room w/large flat screen TV and plenty of comfy sofas/chairs and two fireplaces is a great place to relax. The large kitchen w/breakfast bar/stools and dining room is spacious enough for 12 people to dine together. First floor has the Master bedroom, full bath and guest room. The entire second floor is a huge 'KIDS' bedroom w/its own full bath and sleeps 5-7 and is a great room for kids to escape to!!

Outside of house has nice front and back yard foor kids to play and plenty of parking. This is a prime summer vacation location, and books early and full so don't wait....

We were so glad we chose this Gloucester vacation rental to spend our final week of summer by the beach and the weather and ocean breezes were amazing! It was perfect for our medium sized family and the kids loved the huge upstairs room and own bath. The dining room and kitchen were very nice and we loved the breakfast bar as well. there was a nice patio set and gas BBQ of which we enjoyed nightly and the closed in back yard was safe for the kids to play in w/the dog. The owner was nice enough to spend some time with us giving ideas of things to do and restaurants to eat. I'd highly recommend this house if you love the beaches!

Fantastic Beach House!

We had a wonderful family vacation! The house was perfect for our family. We loved the open floor plan. Easy walk to Good Harbor and Long Beach. Looking forward to coming back!

Cute cottage

We stayed at the cottage with our son, daughter in law and their 3 little girls. The children are 4, 6 and 8. We enjoyed the room upstairs since the girls were able to spread out with their toys and give the adults some alone time downstairs. The cottage is bright and sunny as described. Although it is a 10 minute walk to the beach, we felt it was a bit too far for us since we needed to bring so much gear with us. It would be perfect for older children who could help with the lugging. We generally had the windows open so that we had a nice breeze going through the rooms. The house DOES NOT have any air conditioning but does have fans in each room. Living room furniture needs to be upgraded.

Great close-to-the-beach spot!

John's house was a treat for my family! Big and open spaces which allow for people to come and go without bumping into each other! Rooms comfortable and equipped with just enough stuff. Super nice to have a king sized bed in the master bedroom! Fantastic!

John stopped by to check and is a terrific local guy, with lots of information about the area from a "townie"!

The beach is a quick walk and the neighbors here are all super-friendly, which adds to the experience. Don't forget the 3-minute walk to the ice cream shop on Thatcher Drive! It was a nightly ritual for us!

I would be nice if the cleaning people would leave or provide some of the "dry good-type items" left by other tenants...basic spice rack, olive oil, condiments, garbage bags, etc, as it is an inconvenience to literally have to buy everything for your stay. Virtually all of the dozens of other HomeAway/AirBnB properties we've visited would have these sorts of items around.

We enjoyed our Famliy get together, inspite of a uncomfortable rude encounter with the owner.

The owner was at the home upon our arrival, we had to wait outside a couple hours to get access. So 2 pm stated time of arrival became well after 4 pm. With no apology. We arrive from SC (Our Home State) in a small motor home that is and was our mode of transportation. In the listing it indicated that there was parking for RV, boats etc. We had NO intention or a need or desire to us the motor home once we arrived. The motorhome could fit and park in the side yard without an issue. John(the owner) refused to let us park in the yard. And futher refused to listen to us .

He was rude and inconsiderate to me and my wife.

We did not need to hear about the last couple of renters and his problems and the mess they left. As he was lecturing us and telling us he has been renting for 15 years and has heard all the stories????

We are retired professionals, very clean and respectible people. He treated us like children...

The house was nice however, there is no rear screen door which prevents air flow when closed, The house was HOT with No AC so we had to endore the bugs. The screens on many windows "make shift" adjustable screens that have a 2" or more gap also allowing bugs into the house.

He insisted that everyone wash there feet before they enter his house and had a white bucket with water in it at the door entrance with a sign/note.

I understand the sand issue, buy we are blocks away from the beach and we do clean our shoes before going into any house.

Further it is now 4 weeks later and he did not return our security deposit. We left the house as clean if not cleaner than we received it. We even washed all bed linens and towels and left them folded on the beds. The house was spotless.

The owner did not make us feel welcome when arrived and now further earned this review.

We had to request our deposit refund twice. He said the only reason he did not send it it that he was busy. Poor excuse as we still wait.
