About the property

GREAT DECEMBER Weekday Discount!!!.....see rates. Are you looking for a vacation rental that provides peace and quiet? Want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of city life? Then this is the house for you! In 2008 Hurricane Ike devastated the Caplen Shore subdivision. Pelican Bluff is the first home to return. You will have complete privacy with no neighbors. Built in Sept. 2016, this beach house has a spectacular gulf view from the living room, master bedroom and guest bedroom! Sleeping quarters include master bedroom with king size bed, guest room with queen bed and a bunk room with 1 full and 1 twin bed. Beds for 7 people plus a queen sofa bed and twin roll away provides sleeping for up to 10 guests. All bedrooms include a TV and built in DVD player. The living room sports a big screen TV, WIFI & Pandora.. But the best part is the beachfront view! From the deck you can see 180 degrees with no obstructions. Watch the sun rise or sun set, see the ships travel on the Gulf and dolphins frolic in the water. A quick walk puts you on a secluded area of the beach with very little traffic. The grill, a built in picnic tables and outdoor shower downstairs make entertaining easy and enjoyable in any kind of weather. Built Sept 2, 2016. Also check out my first beachfront property Pelican Bay. It is located approx 1/4 mile from Pelican Bluff and can be viewed at property #562649

About Margene Walz

Hi, Welcome to my home – My name is Margene Walz. I am the owner and am thrilled to show you around. Many years ago I moved to California from Nebraska but have always missed the mid-western values and hospitality. Through the advice of my brother Mike Walz of Crystal Beach's Walz Family Builders I seized the opportunity to sell my California condominium and built on Bolivar. I appreciate the area and the hospitality. It is like coming back to my roots. I am very pleased to be able to share my home with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. (By the way...the picture is of my great nephew, Alex. He photographs cuter than I do.)

Margene Walz purchased this house in 2016

Why Margene Walz chose Crystal Beach

Since my brother owns a home and a business in Crystal Beach I have visited many times. Each time I fell more and more in love with the area. I decided to invest my retirement money here and started with Pelican Bay. It has been such a pleasant experience with wonderful, wonderful guests! So when an opportunity arose I jumped at the chance to purchase a second home. I can't wait to share this peaceful stress-free beach with you.

What makes this house unique

The most spectacular thing about Pelican Bluff is the unobstructed beach front view. The front deck is 16' deep - 8' is covered and 8' is uncovered. Guests are able to enjoy the shade, read, sip a glass of wine or beer or tan in the sunshine. Since there are no neighbors guests will have a peaceful and quiet stay. The family area under the house includes a shower, a two built-in picnic tables and charcoal grill. It is a wonderful area that will accommodate many family members and guests. Plus it is brand new and offers you all the comforts of home with the additional bonus of hearing and watching the surf.

Private and peaceful location, breath taking views of the gulf, beautiful, clean , and comfortable h

We decided to skip the traditional Thanksgiving this year and head for the beach, after hours of online searching for the right place, I finally found it, Pelican Bluff was perfect ! We enjoyed everything about it, the beach, the fishing, the bonfires every night, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, clear, starry nights and so much more! The House was clean and beautiful and had everything you needed. We will definitely be coming back, hope we can stay a week next time. Gloria E. and family

Wonderful!!

Gorgeous sunrise and sets! Store and restaurants close by in case you forgot anything. Loved the beach access from the path straight out of the back of the property. Campfire with smores and stars was awesome!

Comfortable home, great ocean views!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 5th trip to Crystal Beach. We have stayed at several VRBO properties, but this is our favorite. Clean, comfortable, and easy beach access. The views are outstanding. We plan to stay at this property again and again!

Home owner and brotehr were amazing.

  • 5 of 5

Very pleased with the home and the owners, great people who are pro-American, when they learned we were a team of veterans they actually allowed us to check in early and stay a day later. The only complaint I had was from the renters before us specifically Maria S. She must be unAmerican, we had a Veteran and a LEO set up a few days before our other veterans were supposed to show and she was outraged that someone was on a public beach in front of their beach house. She gave a two star review based not on the amazing accommodations but the fact that these two servants of the community were set up on a public beach, pretty petty if you ask me. Thank you Marjorie for allowing us to stay and honor our veterans for the weekend.

Perfect!

I couldn’t wait to get home and write a review for this property. The home is cozy and clean and the location could not have been any better. BEAUTIFUL unobstructed view of the gulf, nice pathway to the beach, and no neighbors! This is our new favorite beach spot and we can’t wait to plan our next trip!

Disappointed

  • 2 of 5

We were having a great time until the people that were to stay after us decided to set up camp right on the beach in front of the house. They were noisy, talking on cell phones, whooping and hollering when they caught a fish, etc. We had hoped to listen to the waves breaking as we slept, but that was not the case. We picked this property because it was secluded, romantic and because it was our anniversary. This ruined the experience for us. We will not be back.

Owner's Response: I am so sorry this guest had a disappointing time. Her stay was 3 nights and as she stated she was having a great time until the next guests camped on the beach. The guests who followed her were from a “wounded vets” organization and two of them arrived a night early to set up an area where the disabled vets were to assemble. They were there to fish and be in a quiet peaceful area in which to talk with other wounded vets. Loud noises and voices have a tendency to scare them. As you read the following reviews you will notice everyone comments about how peaceful, secluded and quiet the area is. Even though Bolivar Peninsula is a public beach; during the Peak months guests still comment about the serenity of Pelican Bluff. I am sorry the one night ruined this guest vacation but for me wounded vets are always welcome and I want to thank them for their service to our great country.
