About Christine Scott

Why Christine Scott chose Six Mile
Lake Keowee has so much to offer: beautiful, clear water and mountain views – all a short drive from Atlanta, Greenville, Charlotte, Asheville, and other cities! In addition to the lake’s appeal, the surrounding area is perfect for those who enjoy nature or seek adventure. When we visit the lake, we typically split our time between relaxing at the cabin and exploring. Some of our favorite family activities include kayaking to the Jocassee waterfalls, hiking, and fly fishing the Whitewater River. With all of the beautiful scenery and natural wonders, we love that Six Mile is also conveniently located to modern conveniences including grocery stores, Wal-Mart, restaurants, a movie theater and bowling alley. Although we are Georgia Tech fans – go Jackets! – we are happy that the cabin is conveniently located for fellow ACC fans in town for Clemson games. The area is especially beautiful in the fall, and lake time and football go together perfectly!
What makes this Cabin unique
As we were searching for our ideal lake home, we wanted to find a welcoming cabin that balanced rustic charm with modern convenience. We fell in love with Hatteras Hideaway due to its knotty pine log cabin design, wooded yard, and multiple spacious outdoor seating areas. The cove is perfect for swimming, and we love taking the kayaks out to explore the open water. At night, we love unwinding by the fire pit and enjoying views of the lights reflecting upon the lake.

Perfect place for a larger group. The two living rooms and fireplaces guarantee there is space for everyone. Soaring great room is a great place to view the lake! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving gathered around the large Farmhouse table!
Fun Football Getaway
We met some family friends for the Clemson football game. The house was beautiful and well appointed, with a lovely backdrop. We had plenty of room to spread out and enjoyed time sitting by the water. It was a nice stay - we just wish it were longer.
Great place to stay not far from Clemson
Five stars all around! We stayed here for a few days before dropping off our daughter for her freshman year at Clemson. Great setup for families!
Perfect quick trip to Lake Keowee
The property was extremely clean. You could tell that the owners take great pride in this home. All amenities were perfect!...great location, comfortable beds, great views, and well stocked with anything you may need. The owners were extremely easy to communicate with. We really enjoyed our stay here. It was perfect and very peaceful!!
This was our second year at this beautiful lake house. It’s a great location, super comfortable, and plenty of room for several families. Chris, the owner could not have been nicer before, during, and after our visit.
Lake Keowee is a beautiful and pristine deep lake with beautiful shorelines and views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whether you choose to relax on Keowee or explore the beautiful surrounding area, you will not be disappointed with the exquisite scenery and endless activities.
Lake Jocassee, Keowee’s neighbor to the north, is another lake well known for its extreme beauty. 7,500 acre Jocassee is mostly undeveloped, with the only public access in Devils Fork State Park. With four mountain streams and waterfalls flowing into the lake, it is an excellent spot for trout fishing as well as snorkeling and scuba diving.
There are many beautiful hikes in the area, including several waterfall trails. Whitewater Falls, the highest waterfall east of the Rockies, falls 811 feet. The Lower Falls can be accessed via Bad Creek, 26 miles from Hatteras Hideaway. In addition to scenic trails for hikers of all levels, the Whitewater River is an excellent spot for fly fishing.
