Overview

About the property

Comfy Open Concept 4-bedroom, 2-bath; Private Lot, Gorgeous Lake & Sunset Views

Find your peaceful place at our quiet lake home! This 694-acre lake is lightly developed and has a hard, sandy bottom. Known for great walleye fishing it also has low lake traffic making it great for swimming. Our tree-lined lot gives you privacy with woods/State Wildlife Management area across the street. Enjoy a bluff view of the lake with your morning coffee, and come back for a panoramic view of the sunsets in the evening!

The home welcomes plenty of natural light into its spacious open-concept main level, along with two bedrooms and a full bath. There is walkout access to the deck, with the camprfire area just steps away. Or, access the attached garage/game room within a couple steps from the living room.

There is a wide range of DVD movies to choose from, with TVs/players on either level. Please note: due to the rural location and lack of quality area services, a cell phone Hotspot works best for internet access.

The lower level great room welcomes kids & teens with bunk beds & futons, and a game cabinet hosts cards, games, puzzles, books & toys. Another full bathroom and two more bedrooms are just down the hall.

* The Public Lake Access is located on Co Rd 35 and has a concrete ramp, parking space & a sandy beach area.

** There is a dock at the home but no boat lift. Please bring an anchor for any watercraft you bring.

About Reed & Rachel Vieau

Both Reed & Rachel grew up in nearby towns and both enjoyed being in the outdoors year-round. This property offers you great opportunities to do the same! Reed purchased the property in 2004, and then renovated it inside & out. The main floor was transformed into an open-concept with beautiful teak wood and Travertine floors. He added the dormer and 2-stall garage, while the home also received all new windows, doors & siding, electrical, pipes and appliances.

Rachel spent time living in Iowa before moving back to MN in 2005, and met Reed a year or so later. [She currently manages the property and will be your main contact.]

Their love of peaceful lake settings, relaxing in the outdoors and sunsets motivates them to help you do the same.

Reed & Rachel Vieau purchased this house in 2004

Why Reed & Rachel Vieau chose Central

Surrounded by trees, the home offers privacy and solitude without feeling closed in. The open view from the front door draws your eye straight to the gorgeous vista of the lake below, and Big Swan Lake boasts great fishing with lots of room to relax on a pontoon or set out your ice house! The neighborhood is beautiful and offers great, quiet walks or bike rides. There's also a small landing on the lake stairs where you can watch for all kinds of wildlife.

In this "Heart of the Lakes" area, where neighbors are like friends, it's easy to feel like you're in the country and yet there is such a wide range of things to do and see. Several small towns offer unique sights, eateries and great shops, including art galleries & museums. But you can also get to bigger towns with more options in 30-40 minutes, and even visit the Mall of America in about an hour.

What makes this house unique

The view is mesmerizing and the home is beautiful with a main level arched hallway, spacious island, and an 8-ft patio door framed by large windows for enhanced lake views. There is also ample space to spread out, with 4 bedrooms one can sneak away to for a nap. We love the cozy campfire area in the backyard, and that even when a rainy day occurs groups can gather in the garage for a ping pong tournament, air hockey match, or games and meals at the banquet tables. The wide overhang of the garage allows you to keep the large doors open and enjoy the sounds of nature.

Beautiful view of the lake!

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay at this fully furnished lake home! We had a bonfire each night in the firepit outside. We also had a really great time fishing the lake, we caught catfish and lots of northern pike. It was fun to just relax outside on the patio and watch the guys play bean bag toss. Very clean lake home and well maintained.

Thanks for a great mini Vacation on the lake!

Lovely property for a relaxing get away!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great extended weekend get away at Lake Swan. The house was clean and roomy...comfortably fit 10 of us! The kids LOVED the garage set up with the air hockey and ping pong. The view of the lake was so peaceful. While we didn't go into the lake because of the algae bloom (in reality was fine to go swimming in ( : ), we still enjoyed fishing off the dock and got to explore the area and found another lake near by to go swimming. The owners were very responsive and great to work with!

Great family home on a quiet lake

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this house for our annual Labor Day family reunion. We had 15 people stay at the home & it was the perfect amount of space. There was a private bedroom for each set of adults & all 7 kids had fun in the bunkbed space in the basement. The owners were very responsive both during booking & during our stay. They happily answered questions and were quick to respond. The kitchen & open floorplan allowed for easy meal prep while still staying part of the activity. We enjoyed that the kids had a separate space to eat at the tables in the garage along with ping pong & air hockey to keep them entertained while the adults dined inside and enjoyed fewer interruptions at mealtime. The backyard was bigger than pictured in the ad, so we were happy to have extra space to play yard games. We also had a great rental experience through the boat rental recommended by the owners. The lake is quiet and perfect for relaxing boating & kayaking. I highly recommend this property for your next MN lake getaway.

Exactly how I remembered it!

  • 5 of 5

Once again this property captivated us! Stayed here last year while working in a nearby town and it was only fitting to stay again when we came back this year for some additional work. Reed and Rachel are amazing hosts! Their property is nothing short of amazing! My only complaint is we couldn't stay longer. If in the area, I highly recommend this place as your home away from home. Thanks again for your hospitality! Hopefully see you again next year!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property on Big Swan Lake. Great view of the lake! Very peaceful and quiet setting. Enjoyed fishing excursions with a pontoon rental (thanks for suggesting Josh's rentals) and campfires at night. Property was very clean and inviting. Would recommend to friends and family.
