About Sonya Meline
Michael & Sonya Meline were married in 2012 in the mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest. They moved into their ranch just a few weeks after the wedding, and have been quickly transforming what was an avocado ranch into a diverse property with citrus, avocado, pomegranates, artichokes, rare grasses, guavas, bananas, strawberries, and so much more. Plus they have goats, ducks, chickens, and a flock of racing pigeons. The two enjoy hiking, exploring the small towns nearby, and enjoying the quaint downtown charm of their new hometown, Fallbrook. They live onsite in their vintage travel trailer or in one of many cities they explore on trips throughout the year.
Sonya Meline purchased this House in 2012
Why Sonya Meline chose Fallbrook
Honestly, the first thing remember was standing at the kitchen sink and thinking "Wow, if we were doing dishes here, we would get a view like this! That would make doing dishes pretty nice..." From there it was the neighborhood, the people, the attractions, the food, the quiet small town charm of it all. We were hooked.
What makes this House unique
Take a break from the privacy of the ranch & drive down a country lane to spend time at the impeccably maintained Pala Mesa Resort with a round of golf or a game of tennis. Enjoy their Aquaterra Restaurant with sushi bar, lounge with live music on weekends and stone fireplace, or spacious outdoor patio with pond and also with live entertainment. Ready for adventure? Google “101 things to do in Fallbrook”. You might be amazed there is so much to do in this quaint historical farm town known as the "Avocado Capital of the World" for its status as one of the largest producers of avocados. The location of your ranch retreat has easy access to I-15 & Hwy 76. Fallbrook’s Mediterranean climate is known to be the one of the most ideal in the world so every day you will be able to take part in many things to see and do. Ready for a Beach Day? You are 30 minutes away from Oceanside Pacific Harbor where you can enjoy the beach, walk the pier, dine at some outstanding foodie faves and stay to soak up a colorful sunset. Ready to roll the dice? As close as five miles to the east three renowned casinos lie amid the natural California scrub lands - Pechanga, Pala and Pauma. They offer the best in gaming. Relaxing Get Away In The Hills of North County San Diego
Our family of 3, had a wonderful time at Meline Ranch. We did not want to leave after a week, but we are excited to plan our next stay. We found it a pleasure to prepare our meals in the professional kitchen that is very organized, well equipped, with a beautiful bay window to gaze at the gorgeous view of the lush green hills. We loved having our coffee in the morning on the covered patio with the quiet sounds of nature. We saw rabbits, squirrels, all kinds of birds, including hummingbirds and birds of prey. We returned to the same spot for a glass of wine in the evening. There was always a cool breeze that was refreshing. Our daughter enjoyed a de-stressing dip in the hot tub after a long day of sight seeing in San Diego. She also loved the kid friendly bedroom with many toys and books. The beds were super comfortable, the kind of comfort, you peek to see the manufacturer of the mattress, because you slept like a baby. The linens were super soft and luxurious. The home is tastefully decorated with a mid-century, minimalist feel. Fallbrook is a quaint, friendly little town that is delight to visit. We found it a treat to explore downtown, with it's unique shops, restaurants and the Fallbrook Art Center. We had breakfast at the Main Street Café that was delicious. The best vegetable skillet and Greek wrap!!!! The solar, earth friendly home reflects the values of the Meline's. Sonya and Mike truly care about your stay. Their attention to the details, makes for a memorable experience. It was the kind of vacation where true relaxation can happen. Although it was nice to have the option to watch a movie on a projection screen, we never did. We had a great time just allowing our senses to take in the beauty. Thank you for your sincere hospitality.
Perfect relaxing stay
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay here for the NYE weekend. We had three couples, and the three bedrooms were the perfect amount of space. The kitchen was a wonderful gathering space for our group, making meals and squeezing oranges from the property, both for breakfast and then evening cocktails. The oversized stove with accompanying griddle was a highlight of the space. Cannot say enough good things about the Hilltop house. We even walked through the neighborhood (past the friendly goats) to the Myrtle Creek Botanical Gardens which was a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Thank you Sonya and Michael, our little reunion weekend was heavenly!
A great place and so convenient !
A lovely, quiet retreat away from this world -- less than 1 hour from San Diego !!
Fantastic kitchen and dining area much larger than what the photo suggests !
Pick your own oranges (or limes or lemons) and make your own juice every morning -- Excellent
Bonus point: The bottle of Australian wine left by the host to congratulate you is EXCELLENT !!
In summary: A very pleasant stay and soo convenient !!
The house is beautiful and has every gadget a cook needs - yes I did find a pizza cutter! I brought from home cook tools and never unpacked them, as Sonya had it all. Sonya replied to texts or phone calls immediately. An added bonus was the resident cat, Bindy, who greeted us every day and spent evenings with us as we enjoyed the sunsets and amazing views with a glass of wine. if you want a peaceful getaway this is the place to go! A nightly walk to feed the goats Billie and Opal citrus leaves was great fun for my grandson.
Great summertime retreat
We had a great stay here with our 6yo boy and 3yo girl. Well-appointed kitchen and the hot tub was perfect for a dip in the heat. We would definitely stay again.
Super nice place!
Property was very nice! Owners went above and beyond to make sure that our family of 6 adults had all the essentials that we needed. Sonya called several times to make sure all was going well. The only reason that the property was given 4 stars instead of 5 is the hot tub did not work (which was a must feature when choosing a property for us) the tv in the kitchen did not work for us to watch local channels in the morning. Quiet nights for relaxing and sleeping! We would recommend it!
We are so happy you enjoyed the home. It was unfortunate that the hot tub needed to have the breaker reset. Works like a champ! The TV and amazing projector have all been updated now! It seems the plug wasn't connected when you tried to turn it on. Not sure how that happened. Normally we just walk our guests through it, but you guys were too busy enjoying San Diego! So glad you stayed with us. Hope you return! It was great having you and your family!
