Do Not Rent - Stay Away
As soon as we walked into this unit we were disappointed. The blinds were literally falling off the windows. The TV was small and dated. Instead of a DVD player there was a VCR; indicating how much time has past since any updates had been made to the unit. Lastly the paint was peeling off the bathroom door. This is a tired unit in desperate need of some maintenance.
We were only staying one night so we could make due.
After we had checked out we received an email from the owner stating that we had smoked in the unit (WE DID NOT!!) and damaged the couch because of smoking in the unit (IMPOSSIBLE!!).
Shocked and angry we attempted to contact the owner via email and by the phone number we had; but we have received no response.
I would NEVER rent this unit again!!
Unfortunately this guest decided not to live up to their bad behaviour. I have never put in a claim before - but when you leave cigarette butts in the suite - and say you never smoked in the unit - you become unbelievable. If you want to state you never smoked in unit - you should at least remove your cigarette butts.
The guests did confirm that they were smoking - there was damage by cigarette burns on my cushions - they were not there previously.
The TV is a 32" for a 650'sq ft room it is very appropriate and it was purchased within the last 2 years. The unit was just repainted - no paint is coming off the wall. The blinds are attached to the wall - not sure how they can fall off???
These guests were acting like bullies from the beginning of the rental - trying to coercise me to give them the code early - this is their way I believe of trying to get back by giving the suite a bad review. No I would not return their call as they were rude from the beginning - we had nothing further to discuss. NO I WOULD NOT rent to them again either -
Everything is DUSTY ! RUSTY ! & DIRTY !
Hi , chairs are very dirty ! All pans are rusty ( I borrow twice from 2 different neighbors) , some fridge parts are broken , bedding old and faded with time , pillows with some stains , some bowls were dirty , NO dishwasher detergent when we arrived , no curtain and broken blinds on outside door ( I made one with an old piece of fabric and a plastic bag ) anyway the worst suite in the resort ! I have a lot of pics to justify all this and sent them to the owner .The suite smelt cigarettes and dampness ... unfair for 2 kids to endure all these horrible conditions. Last point : the 'suite' was paid on time ( confirmation of the payment received via vrbo) to leave Calgary around noon , at 5pm we were STILL in Calgary : the owner told she did NOT receive the payment then she could not give the suite digit code ! ( am sure I don t listed everything here )
The suite is renter friendly. Unfortunately this guest I would never invite again. She found nothing in paradise to find right. She pulled apart the clean pillow cases - all pillows (in excess of 8 of them) to find apparently find a stain on one of the pillows (which is covered with a clean pillowcase) to complain about. Wow - if you look for problems - and something to complain about. To complain about the fridge - don't know what 'parts' are broken - fridge was certainly operational - Suite was as advertised . The problem with check in - is that the checkin is as advertised for 4pm - that she thought it was something else is what what was advertised for the suite. There are people that look to complain about everything - this suite was as advertised - great value for a suite on the mountains. You are in the middle of paradise - on the mountains and you find a complaint with a bar that appears to be missing in the fridge - I feel sorry for you. For the smell of the 'smoke' it is advertised as a suite having a fireplace - that is why the 'smoke' smell. I suggest that you read the advertisement and know what is being rented - and not put your evaluations on a suite at a excellent rental rate and expecting something else. No I don't want this guest again - if you have to pull pillow cases apart to find complaints - no thank you
Panorama is awesome!
We had a wonderful time biking and hiking in Panorama this week. The village is fantastic!
Do not rent this unit!!!
The unit was a huge disappointment and was not as advertised. It smelled of cigarette smoke, and was in a huge state of disrepair - holes in walls, no towel bar, cracked drawer in the fridge, rust in the sink, broken blinds on the door, chipped paint, what looked like water damage on base moldings, missing light fixture in the bathroom, a broken tap in the tub, no AC or adjustable thermostat. The pans in the cupboard were filthy so we went and actually bought our own to use. The whole experience was very negative and we will not be returning. The owner needs to do some major updating and cleaning in that unit before renting it again.
There was no information about the resort in the unit and no cards As a host, both of these should have been there. Plus I messaged her and she never got back to me. She also should have advised that there was a water advisory ahead of time as well. And gotten me access instructions before the day of arrival.
This was the only holiday for my family for the entire year and the experience of being in your unit ruined it. This is very disappointing and frustrating.
The panorama resort is wonderful but do not stay in this suite.
So unfortunate that this guest did not properly read the description and allowed imagination to take over and to be difficult guests. Complaints including having no air conditioning when this unit was never advertised as having air conditioning and YES there is an adjustable thermostat in the unit. The complaint of smoke in the unit is not due to cigararettes but a fireplace in the unit. Among the various erroneous complaints was that there was a water advisory in place, for which I would have no control, but there was no water advisory during her stay-completely fabricated by guest. There were and no no holes in the walls. The guest was provided with general information about the resort and she failed to find out more based on their preferences prior to their visit. Further there was complaints about timing of code for door, which is standard and released the night before- a standard and protects privacy of existing guests. This unit was and is advertised as a homey comfort feel, the guests with expectations of an air conditioned new suite should have investigated suites available with those features with rental rates of over $250/night not what she rented for $89/nite. These highly critical guests that expected items that were not advertised and fabricated experiences are not welcomed back to any of my suites.
This place was a true disappointment and actually made our skin crawl. We have been coming to Panorama Mountain Village for 25 years and almost exclusively in the Horsethief units but have never seen a place in this state of disrepair and uncleanliness.
Upon arrival we immediately noticed the following issues:
-missing plug for bathtub
-missing light bulb in lamp
-broken spindle in chair back
-missing towel bar in bathroom
-missing and broken light fixtures and burned out light bulbs
-chipped and dirty dishware
-thermostat not adjustable
-no guest guide provided
-holes in wall behind entry and bathroom doors, also several holes in the ceiling
-broken and bent window blinds
-general uncleanliness (cobwebs on ceiling, cigarette smell, insects smeared on wall in kitchen, unvacuumed floors, jam smeared on cupboard, stained couches)
-dirt, mold, and mildew on all tile surfaces in the bathroom and a filthy bathroom mat
-the queen bed was flimsy and uncomfortable and the pull-out couches were too dirty to even attempt to sleep on.
-there is no way this place would sleep 6 people, at least not comfortably, because it was extraordinarily uncomfortable for just the 2 of us.
We brought these things to the attention of the owner and didn't even receive an apology. She was defensive and said "I've never had any complaints before". I even offered to send her the 20-30 pictures of the issues stated above for her records and she didn't respond to that, which to me says she already knows and doesn't care.
The only positive about this VRBO process was ease and use of the VRBO site. We would use the site again but will be MUCH more careful about choosing a place to stay.
There are multiple activities for you to plan to do; they are seasonal and varied with the vendors that provide the service. These may include quadding; white water rafting; golfing; mini golf; tennis; basketball courts; miles and miles of paved walking and biking trails; bike rental; chair lift up mountain with biking; daily scheduled activities at resort; there is a convenience store and liquor store located on site at this beautiful picturesque mountain resort. Multiple restaurants and sporting store is seasonably open - so check for times. Gondola available also on high season - check for times.
