About Vacasa of Lake Tahoe
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Great location. Very cool decor in the cabin. Had a great time.
Great location, nice kitchen and appliances
We enjoyed the Moosehead lodge for a weekend of skiing. The location was great, the kitchen was nice with new appliances to prepare dinners. Plenty of beds for everyone, 3 parking spots. The bathrooms are very old but fine for our needs. Overall good experience.
Everything was awesome about this place. Vacasa was very responsive to our questions and even a minor thing we had during the stay. Great place and great company during the crazy new years season.
Sturdy and creative
The cabin in creatively configured and decorated. It’s is warm and bright. We had a couple of minor issues upon arrival but everything was resolved in a reasonable amount of time.
Great week at Moosehead Lodge
This house was exactly what we were looking for. We stayed for 6 days for some late season skiing and snowboarding. We intentionally chose this location because of it's proximity to the California Lodge at Heavenly. Unfortunately the California side was closed for the season the day we arrived. That was a disappointment but easily fixed by driving to the Gondola each day.
The house was perfect for the 6 of us. Plenty of rooms and the main room and kitchen were large and welcoming. The sole occupant of the downstairs room was a little put out that it was always cold down there. Some of the light switches are in odd locations but everything was in working order and in good condition.
We will definitely rent the Moosehead Lodge again!!
Great Location, great kitchen, sort of dated in places
It's a quaint cabin with a really great kitchen. Really great. Long table and a serious set of ovens and stove. It has no baking sheets though so bring that if you want to bake something. We made do with some weird glass baking pans. It also had salt and that was it. They warned us not to expect to find anything like spices, oils, etc, and they were right. There was a lone thing of salt. There was also a ridiculous number of knives. So many knives. The sink was pro quality as well and made clean up a snap. Dishwasher was great as well. This seems to be the most recent upgrade in the cabin and it shows.
Vacasa only gives you two loads of dishwasher soap and 3 loads of washer soap. fyi so come ready.
The shape of the house is odd but that didn't bother us too much. It does eat up some space in the bedrooms but the main room and living room were nice.
I'd suggest they move the TV above the fire place or get a proper mounting unit allow it to swing out for better viewing. And ditch the VHS collection. That was showing it's age.
Fire place is nice and creates a LOT of heat. Really cozy.
The electric is really old. I couldn't plug my laptop in because none of the outlets are grounded. All the outlets are 2 pronged. Not the end of the world but I haven't seen un grounded outlets since the 70's. Also the light switches pretty much throughout the house are confusing and many don't work.
The bathrooms are dated and have old toilets that are very small. Also there are flow resisters installed in the showers so everyone took forever to shower.
The hot tub is great and in the back so it's pretty private. We sat out under the stars and it was beautiful.
There are several cabins in close proximity but not overly obnoxious. The house is built facing away from your nearest neighbor so you are not feeling cramped. The only problem was our nearest neighbor could see directly into the master bathroom. It was an upward angle but it freaked out my wife when she got out of the shower and made eye contact with the people next door
The basement bunk room is cold but there is a space heater down there providing heat. Gotta weird vibe out of that room and a few of us thought it was haunted. I honestly think it's just the cold air when we arrived.
The garage is really small and could fit a car but not much more. Our Rav4 and Honda Pilot would not fit (We didn't try) but we didn't have a problem parking in the driveway but ymmv.
