INSIDE THE CONDO
The Cub’s Den is one-half of a cozy cabin duplex. Three steps lead up to the front porch, where bench seating offers you a spot to greet the day before hitting the slopes.
From here, enter through the front door into the main living area, where you’ll find mountain-style décor and a log frame sleeper sofa and recliner with room for 4 to kick back after a day on the trails. Flip on the 48” flat-screen TV and pop in your favorite DVD’s for a movie night. Open up the sofa at night to accommodate two additional guests.
Overlooking the living area is an open kitchen with granite countertops and a full offering of appliances, including an oven with 4-burner gas stove, fridge, microwave and everything you’ll need for meal prep. Dine together at a wooden table with room for 4 between the kitchen and living areas. This open design allows for a true group vacation.
Just off the kitchen is a bedroom full of mountain charm. Rest up and watch TV from the queen-size log frame bed. A window lets in light and a view of the pines, and an en-suite bath has a standing shower and vanity, plus a washer/dryer so you can pack light.
Our condo is tucked in a quiet complex with a grassy meadow where you can build snowmen in the winter or spread out a blanket for picnics in the summer. A short walk through the woods leads right to Truckee River for rafting, fishing or splashing. Drive 3 minutes to Tahoe Keys Marina to rent a boat and explore by water.
For even more outdoor fun, drive 11 minutes to Heavenly Mountain Resort for world-class skiing in the winter and miles of hiking trails to explore in the summer. Scenic Lake Tahoe beaches are only 10 minutes away by car, and if you’re feeling lucky, Nevada’s casino resorts are just about an hour away.
If all that excitement has left you with an appetite, you’ll find seafood and Californian cuisine at Fresh Ketch Restaurant & Bar, café fare at Alpen Sierra Coffee and mouthwatering south-of-the-border dishes at Jalapeno’s Mexican – all within a 5-minute drive of our rental.
