Why Matt and Heather chose Rangeley
Our Family began renting in Rangeley many years ago when our kids were young. We found ourselves returning year after year... Rangeley is an amazing place. Our cottage on Dodge Pond is great if you enjoy amenities a town offers but also your own private beach & escape. It is right off a main road but also gives the feel of "off the beaten" path too.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our cottage sits on an acre & offers some incredible views of the mountains & sunsets. Whether you choose to take a drive to town for ice cream or bite to eat, hike one of the nearby trails, rent a boat or just stay at the cottage all week to relax & rejuvinate, there is something for everyone.

The view is Breathtaking. Cottage is wonderful
Great, private location
My girlfriend and I spend a few nights at the cottage in September. By day we explored the lake in the kayaks and at night we sat around the campfire under a sky fall of stars. The cottage is rustic but perfect for a couple or small family. The small beach area was great for swimming and we loved listening to the loons.
Fabulous vacation spot with amazing views
My husband and I and our 3 young kids (6, 4, 16 months) stayed at this house for 1 week at the end of August. We had such a wonderful time and cannot wait to go back next year! The town of Rangeley is only about 2 miles away and it is the cutest town with tons of stuff to do for everyone (outdoor stores, two cute ice cream places, town park with swings and playground) and it is all walk-able. While at the lake we enjoyed taking the Kayaks out, using the floating dock and my husband and son did a bunch of fishing. The view off the dock is breathtaking. For anyone with small kids the beach was perfect for little ones to play and wade into the water. The house was very well kept, clean and had everything that they indicated. Heather and Matt were very responsive, accommodating and made our vacation experience very enjoyable.
Great cozy cottage!
This cottage was a great getaway for my husband and I, along with our seven month old son! It was small but had everything we needed! His Pack N Play fit perfectly between the twin bed and the bunks, and he had the whole room to himself. We put black trash bags on the windows to darken the rooms as the curtains were quite thin. The weather didn't cooperate and allow us to get out on the water but we did enjoy feeding bread to the ducks and visiting local restaurants and a playground so our son could play on the swings :-) The views were beautiful and the sounds of the loons on the water at night were so peaceful. Fans that were provided in both rooms helped a lot with air circulation, and we thoroughly enjoyed the wood stove! We lit bonfires out front every night- don't forget marshmallows! The only reason I gave this property four instead of five stars was the bed- it's advertised as a queen but we think it's actually a double. My husband is a big guy and 6'2, I'm 5'11 and it was quite small for the two of us! Otherwise I would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing getaway with gorgeous lake & mountain views!
Hi Meghan, Thank you for your review! So glad you enjoyed your stay and found plenty to do even with the drizzly weather. The town playground was always a favorite with the kids when they were little. We will install blinds in the near future. It would probably be a good idea especially when you may want to take a nap or get little ones to sleep during the daytime. Also I apologize...we thought the bed we were getting was a queen. The bedding is queen that fits on the bed & we have slept in it too. I have corrected the description just in case it is a double. We hope you will consider coming back again. All the best to you and your family! Heather and Matt
it had everything we needed. sitting on the dock was my favorite.
Wonderful...just a PERFECT getaway.
Thank you so much, Dennis! We would love to have you back next summer!

Amazing, private getaway
This is the perfect spot for a family to vacation. We didn't need to leave the camp all week except to go to the grocery store which was right down the road. The kids and dog dis tons of swimming as the parents relaxed on the private beach. There was a great fire pit that we had camp fires at each night. We al left very relaxed and it was the perfect way to spend our end of summer vacation. I would reccomend this place to my friends and family and we will most likely be back next year!
Across the street is a wildlife santuary with walking trails. Within a short drive you can hike Bald Mountain which offers stunning 360 degree views at the top. The hike is moderate to easy. Another favorite hike of our family is "Angel's falls". A real water fall in Maine! *Although our cottage is far off the road, at times you can hear road noise.
