Private wooded lake home with gourmet kitchen and relaxing elegance.
- english, Fishing!
They are part of a family that has been coming to the quite lakes for three generations making memories fishing, swimming, biking and skiing. The couple fell in love with the natural beauty of the Teal and Lost Land Lakes and their uniqueness that they could find nowhere else. We build this dream home to have a more permeate piece of this Northwood’s private sanctuary. Getting married on one of Teal’s islands just out from the property and held our reception in the lake home just days after it’s completion. We love swimming off the dock or catching fish in this class A musky lake. Running and mountain biking some of the 300 miles of local trails are some of our favorite activities along with enjoying the star filled nights relaxing.

Excellent time in Sawyer County!
This house fit the bill almost perfectly for our family of 6 adults and 1 child. This was our 14th year up north but our first in this area. Weather was perfect for being either on or in the lake. The 4 bedrooms permitted everyone to have some of their own space but the screened porch was the central gathering spot. The well-equipped kitchen made meal and snack preparation a snap. And it is not every vacation house that has a garage for your vehicles.
Teal Lake was exciting to explore. The quiet lake policy really cut down on the boat traffic relative to other lakes that we have stayed. We went fishing everyday, catching bass (3 species), bluegill, walleye, perch, and northern. Some time was just spent floating or kayaking in the clear water. We saw a loon family, 2 deer families, plus other wildlife.
Our time was just too short. We hope to visit again someday.
We loved the property and the house is beautiful. We had a great time and the fishing on Teale lake was very eventful despite bad weather. The dock is easy if you are an able bodied person, those with limitations will find the walk down difficult. The home is not on the ATV trail but is remote and the breeze into the bedroom and the sounds of the loons is second to none and we were sad to have to leave. Great property to stay at and the screened in areas make it bug free. It was 90 and humid, no AC in the House was not a probelem it cooled down and there was always a breeze. Thanks a million for sharing your wonderful home!
Lovely setting, house has potential--but could be better
This house is large and nicely designed for a couple of families traveling together. We stayed for 4 nights with 4 adults and three small children. The owner was responsive to our questions. The rental has a lot of potential to be an excellent lake house for a waterfront getaway but fell short in a number of ways.
First, the house does not have a washer and dryer, and you have to bring your own towels--and this needs to be a large number of towels if every guest requires a bath towel and a lake towel. If it rains, as it did when we visited, the air is damp and the towels never fully dry. After 4 days, we had a large pile of dirty, smelly, mildewy towels. A washer/dryer could greatly improve the house.
Second, it was very hot two of the days we were there, and there is no AC in the house--and there are no fans provided for the bedrooms. After a night of poor sleep for all members of the house, we had to drive to a Walmart 25 minutes away to purchase our own fans. A summer rental should provide fans for guests.
Third, the property is apparently for sale and it seems like the owner has moved out all but the bare minimum of furniture. The basement level, for example, has a large space with nothing but a table in it. There are no games or puzzles for rainy days. The house overall looks pretty empty.
Fourth, there were a number of things that made the place feel a little neglected. The porch is badly in need in powerwashing--it is quite dirty; in fact, too dirty for us to sit on it. There was only one, mostly-gone citronella candle provided to deal with the large number of mosquitoes. The grill--one of those tiny Weber charcoal grills--was very grimy and needed to be scrubbed before we could use it. The bottle of body wash in our bathroom was a Neutrogena bottle that I used to shower our young child--only later did I realize that it was filled with the apple-scented dish soap that was in the kitchen.
Finally, the owner asks for the guests to remove their own trash and drive it to the recycling center, about a ten-minute drive away. After checking out, we did as instructed, but were very surprised to be asked to pay to drop off our trash! The owner never mentioned this cost, and we were fortunate that we happened to have cash on hand to pay.
In sum, on a sunny day, the lake setting can be lovely (if buggy). But there are a number of improvements that could be made to the house to make it a more comfortable, convenient, enjoyable rental.
Great Family Vaca
This place is awesome! Scott the owner is very helpful. Told us where to rent a pontoon for the week and had a great time with entire family - pontooning, grilling, and bonfires. Don't forget your bug spray as there are a ton of mosquitos, but that is to be expected when by the lake and surrounded by trees.
The only negative - Bring lots of towels. We were there for a week and didn't realize there was not a washer and dryer to do quick loads of towels.
Excellent place to spend Birkebeiner 2019.
Thanks once again. Great place & we all had a great time.
