We completed a full renovation in 2016. We offered the house as a vacation rental beginning in mid-summer and received very good responses from guests about the beach and pool access as well as the Wild Dunes amenities. We lived in the house as our permanent residence for the past 12 years and loved the location, quiet setting, community pool and the sound of the waves. We felt that the renovation was appropriate to give it a fresh and updated look for our new guests.
It is a delightful beach cottage in the beautiful Wild Dunes resort across the street from the beach. Come enjoy a relaxing stay in a tastefully decorated and appointed private home located at 50 Pelican Bay.
Guest access to the Pelican Bay community pool is a short one minute walk (no usage free required), the beach is across the street from the pool. New renovations include new SS kitchen appliances, all interior paint, newly tiled shower in upstairs bath, new window treatments, and more as of June, 2016. The downstairs features an open living area with pull-out queen sofa bed, full kitchen, dining area, screened porch, sun deck, master bedroom (with queen bed), master bath and additional half bath. Two bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed (and private balcony) and the other with twins. A full bath and washer/dryer are also located on the second floor. Televisions and ceiling fans are provided in all bedrooms as well as the main living area. Newly refinished hardwoods throughout.
We recently renovated the house to provide updated comforts during your beach retreat. Wild Dunes and the Isle of Palms offers a complete package of beach vacation related activities including golf, tennis, fitness center, and dining. Bike, water sport and umbrella rentals are available.
One of the highlights of a trip to the Low country is the "Holy City." with quaint alleys and wide boulevards lined with pre-revolutionary and antebellum houses. Charleston is affectionately known as the crown jewel of the South. Founded in 1670, Charleston is one of America's most historic cities and preserves its links to the past with a passion. The historic Charleston area is filled with attractions to satisfy every taste. The area is home to: historic forts (including Ft. Sumter where the first shot of the Civil War was fired); museums (homes, plantations, gardens, naval warships, history and art); churches; theaters, concerts and nightclubs; aquarium; harbor cruises; carriage and walking tours in the historic district; eco-tours in the inland waterways; fabulous shopping (from boutiques to open air stands in the Market where sweetgrass baskets are woven daily); and some of the finest dining in the Southeast featuring the region's famous Low Country cuisine.
For sports enthusiasts, aside from water sports available at the beach, there are numerous golf courses to challenge any handicap, inshore and deep-sea fishing charters, boat rentals, scuba diving, water skiing, eco tours and minor league baseball, soccer and hockey.
We invite you to come have a relaxing and fulfilled vacation at our little hideaway in coastal South Carolina.
