About Shelley Riley
We are the Riley family (6 of us!). This wonderful home is our way to get away from it all and spend quality time with each other. In the summer, we spend our time at the pond swimming, fishing, or floating; we play frisbee and ball in the big yard or play in the creeks. We go white water rafting on the Youghigheny River, boating on Youghigheny Lake and hike or bike in and around Ohiopyle and Confluence. In the evenings, we sit around the fire pit and roast marshmallows. In winter, we put a big fire in the stone fireplace and play board games or cards and watch movies. We go to the sledding hill off Sugar Loaf Road then come back and build snow forts in the yard. As our kids have gotten older, we can't spend as much time here anymore, so we want others to be able to enjoy this slice of heaven!
Shelley Riley purchased this Farmhouse in 2007
Why Shelley Riley chose Confluence
The property is easy to get to but is tucked away and private. It's not far from so many wonderful things to do around the Laurel Highlands. You can do nothing and truly relax or you can stay busy with all the area activities!
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The large front porch....enjoy coffee in the morning with a good book then later enjoy dinner there with your family and friends. Listen to the sounds of the creeks as you take in the peacefulness. The huge yard is great for the kids while others may spend their time fishing in the stocked pond, reading in the shade of a tree or splashing in the creeks. We especially love the large stone fireplace in the winter. We spend hours there reading, playing games or watching movies together. The new fire pit is a great gathering place for everyone!

I and a group of friends picked the farmhouse for our fall writing retreat, and it was the most relaxing weekend. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and I cannot say enough about the yard and the location. It was absolutely gorgeous. My dog loved the large front yard, and we enjoyed exploring the woods around the house, as well as the pond. We even, despite the colder weather, took advantage of the available yard games. Each day, we had a fire going in the fireplace with the provided wood. It was warm and cozy - a perfect weekend away.
Very quiet remote area, great for a peaceful getaway.
Very clean and peaceful!
Beautiful Weekend Getaway
The house was beautiful, clean and had all the amenities to make a perfect weekend getaway. It's a short distance from Yough Lake where we enjoyed the day on our jet skis, stopped for lunch at Lucky Dog and then thanks to the thoughtful welcome gift, we made smores by the campfire to end the day. We had a good time at the pond fishing. We got out to Ohiopyle, which was a lot of fun and did some exploring in the surrounding little towns. This was a great place for our family. It's only a short distance for our son to travel from college to meet up with us. There is a lot of things to do in the area if you like to explore and the house provides a lot of things to do if you just need to relax. We would love to come back & continue to enjoy this house & this area. Thank you
5 Star Experience!
What a wonderful getaway! This delightful home is impeccably clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything a family might need for a terrific getaway. And the grounds are beautiful too! My teenage sons & their friends loved fishing, exploring the creeks, cooking dinner over the campfire (at a really nice fire pit), playing frisbee on the huge lawn, and just hanging out in this special, lovely & happy home! It was easily the nicest place we’ve stayed in the area and Shelley was very accommodating and pleasant to work with! This was one of our favorite getaways and we hope to visit again and again!
perfect for a long relaxing weekend with family and/or friends
The Farmhouse was just as described and more!!! Shelley has the house ready for us and our family. She inquired about age of children and had age appropriate welcome gift for them ( big bottle of bubble liquid). We had everything we needed to make s’mores waiting for us. The fishing pond was my grandson’s favorite place to be, he caught (and released) two large mouth bass and some bluegill!!! No need to bring any games; the house is well stocked with all kinds of games, puzzles, outdoor games, movies ( even our grandsons favorite/ The Iron Giant”). All beds had high quality mattresses, well functioning a/c in all rooms. Many outdoor destinations are within easy short driving distance. We will be back for sure!!! Thank you Shelley for sharing your farm with us.
