Why Simon Holcombe chose Malton
We're from Yorkshire, love Yorkshire and love Margaret's Cottage it's 'nestled between heathered moors and weathered shores' and gives us a chance to see some of the best Yorkshire can offer. We both used to visit the are with our families, did the same with our children and would love you to stay and love North Yorkshire as much as we do.
What makes this Cottage unique
Margaret's Cottage is perfectly placed whether you want to walk in the North Yorkshire Moors, visit some of North Yorkshire's stunning beaches, historic towns (Whitby and York are very close) or if you just want a quiet relaxing short break with a great pub next door.

Lovely little cottage
It was lovely everything you needed
Margaret Cottage was delightful, with everything we needed for our stay. We really enjoyed our short visit to Old Malton. Thank you.
Cosy cottage with all comforts
If I was to rate purely the cottage I would give 5 stars. It’s a lovely cottage, very characterful and tastefully decorated. There was nothing we missed that the owners didn’t provide.
The downside for us was the fact it’s situated on a very busy road - we were expecting a quiet location so this was unexpected. Another surprise for us was the number of people who look in whilst passing by - I can understand why as it’s very pretty but not ideal. The constant feeling for us was one of being on show.
This probably didn’t help the fact that on our first day we left our dogs for a few hours and we were informed they barked. Fully appreciate this isn’t great for the neighbours so they were never left after that point .
One other thing was we booked because it had a garden, however we were not able to make use of it as it’s not attached to the cottage but a bit further along the lane which wasn’t suitable for our needs.
I would recommend the cottage to others but advise them of these few things as If you are ok with that the cottage is lovely.
Wonderful family bank holiday
We had a wonderful time in this beautiful cottage. Clean, bright and full of character. Immaculately presented and cosy. Lovely location a short walk to Malton with lots of cafes and restaurants. Well located for day visits to Whitby and York. Highly recommended but not too highly as we don’t want it booked up when we want to come again!!
Absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful cottage. Everything you could possibly need and so quaint. Lovely pub next door with very friendly owners. Very relaxed stay and a great visit to Castle Howard for the day.
Lovely cottage near the delightful town of Malton. Excellent places to eat and even a cinema which was fabulous! Margaret's Cottage was like a home from home - lovely touches and even left treats for the dog! Sunday lunch at the pub next door is a definite MUST! We wouldn't hesitate in either recommending or re-booking ourselves!
