Second time in this home, it fits our group well. Close to the beach and access to the channel. Owner next door, works well, their response to any problem is quick. Nice place, economical, good location.

Everything was like in the pictures. We stayed for family wedding so did not get to enjoy water. We did walk to beach which was a very short walk. All was great, we enjoyed it

Considerate, Understanding Owners

  • 5 of 5

This place is really cool. I just wish the weather had cooperated. Our trip was cut short by Hurricane Nate, which forced us to bail on our trip Saturday morning, a couple days ahead of schedule. The storm blew in late that night and evidently made quite a mess of the island. Anyway, about the house...the kitchen had everything we needed to cook for the couple nights we were there, including plenty of pots and pans (although I couldn't find the lids for a couple of the larger pots), skillets, baking sheets, spatulas, and other utensils. The water pressure was about what you'd expect from an island house, but it did the trick. There was also a good-sized charcoal grill. All the appliances were in good working order and gave us no trouble.

The house has a very nice dock behind it with a boat slip. We spent a few hours out there Thursday night enjoying the nice weather, which we knew would not last long. There is plenty of room out there for families to enjoy. You have restricted views of the Mississippi Sound from the back of the house and a similar view of the gulf from the front of the house. Water and power are both accessible outside the house, which makes it great for folks with boats.

Overall, it's a nice place and perfect for what we wanted. Just three guys needing somewhere to stay for a fishing trip, although I think a family would really enjoy the place too. And the owners were responsive and pleasant to deal with, which I really appreciated since there was a hurricane blowing in. We will definitely check this home's availability the next time we want to vacation on Dauphin Island.

Great location for a big family!

  • 5 of 5

This vacation was the best so far. The beach was a short walk across the street, biking trails are at the front door, shaded porch time under the house was perfect for guitar and sing a long times in hammocks. The dock was a perfect hangout and an easy place to put in the kayaks. Loved the shade of the covered slip even though we decided not to bring the boat out this year. I felt very safe here with the kids young and old. A salt water pool is close by plus a bakery with awesome frapacinos can also be found on this quaint vacation island. We left already planning for next years vacation and boys vying for foozball championships.
