A Piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Moose Manor. It was a great place to view the Solar eclipse. We were able to just sit in the yard and just watch without having to face all the traffic. My son went fishing nearby at Warm Springs creek and we also went into the forest on an ATV. The cabin was perfect!!! And we loved the little town of Dubois. The views from the road leading to the cabin are spectacular!

Love the Mountains

  • 4 of 5

This was a great place to stay and owners were great to work with leading up to our stay. The town of Dubois is expensive for eating out. They have a grocery store but it's pricey as well. Nice little town. We went end of July & weather was perfect. 70/80 during the day & 40/50 of the evening.

Pros:

1. Nice cabin with plenty of room for our family of 5.

2. Good scenery - had deer in the yard

3. Up in a mountain

4. Free WiFi - thank goodness otherwise there is no service

5. Full kitchen appliances

6. Ceiling fans to move the air (however they need to be cleaned)

7. Some wildlife - (deer)

8. Tub & shower available. Half bath in upper level by bedrooms

9. Telescope available for viewing

10. Washer & dryer

Cons:

1. No fire pit to use in the evenings even though I asked & was told there was space for this. And it's too dry to just have a fire in a random spot.

2. Windows are stained/dirty so you can't see through them very well without opening them.

3. No screens on windows making it hard to keep open to get a breeze through. Cools down nice at night & would have liked to have windows open for sleeping.

4. Sliding glass door/screen (In master bedroom) didn't work well & had a tear in it. Therefore couldn't use the balcony.

5. No yard for kids to play in. There are bush things all over & not grass.

6. Other cabins right next door. Wasn't too big a deal as one was not being used & the other didn't have people very often.

I would have given 5 stars if the windows had screens & you could see through them better and the sliding screen door worked. For as much as we paid, this should not have been this way. Part of being in the mountains is being able to see the view. Overall, a nice place.

Great winter getaway.

  • 5 of 5

Great house. Lots of room. Great heaters upstairs and downstairs. The kitchen is well stocked and the location is awesome. It truly was a wonderful winter getaway treat. The snowmobile trails are close as is the Crooked Creek Lodge which serves great food and drink.

Owner's Response: We are happy you enjoyed your stay at Moose Manor! The snow has been great this year and we are glad you got to play in it. This cabin was built for guests wanting adventure and the heated floors and garage space is perfect for those vacationing in the winter. The summers are just as nice. We hope you'll visit again soon and bring your atvs (or rent from Crooked Creek). Those snowmobile trails right out the door become awesome atv trails. I'll be sure to tell the great folks at Crooked Creek you enjoyed the food and fire. It's nice having such a wonderful lodge just down the road with a full service bar/restaurant/gas. We look forward to your next stay! Happy Trails, Ree Beavers and Wind River Property Group.
