A wonderful stay in the 1928 Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This property is perfectly situated for anyone wishing to take advantage of the many things Santa Barbara has to offer - excellent restaurants, theatres, museums, twice weekly farmers’ markets, beaches, all within walking distance. We did rent a car for day trips, but the majority of time was spent walking to different destinations. We just loved wandering the streets, admiring the architecture. You see so much more on foot than from the car.You are provided with a parking pass which allows you unlimited street parking. The house itself has everything you need and Ruth and Brian are the most friendly and helpful hosts. We couldn’ t have asked for a better place.

Comfortable and Convenient Bungalow

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent the month of February, 2017, in this beautifully renovated bungalow that is just 3 blocks from State Street, the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. The interior of the unit is bright and airy. The kitchen is new and fully equipped. One of the baths includes a wonderful walk-in shower, to our great satisfaction. The owners placed beautiful orchid plants throughout the unit. Most of the attractions and restaurants that interested us were within easy walking distance. The Paseo Nuevo Center, one of the premier shopping destinations in Santa Barbara, includes a Nordstrom store and is a mere 2 !/2 blocks to the east. A quaint little corner convenience store is 1 block away. We were delighted by the fully ripe navel oranges falling onto the property from a neighbor’s tree. The owners were both very responsive to our questions and quickly accommodated our every need. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay and we hope to return soon.

Fun Family Cozy Week

  • 5 of 5

I am late on reviewing our stay but the place and experience still seem fresh in my mind. I took my nearly 70 year old mother and my younger brother to Santa Barbara for a week. My mother hadn't really traveled for probably 15 years as she struggles with being on her feet too much and stairs. I was nervous but Ruth made me feel at ease the whole way through the rental. Ruth assured me there wasn't much stairs, my mom had no troubles at the house. I even got my mother to walk the SHORT distance to State Street for the farmer's market.

All three of us quiet enjoyed the house and had complaints. Ruth really thinks of everything. Bathroom is stocked, refrigerator had cold water bottles in it, complimentary oatmeal, coffee and tea were there for us. I swear I recall chips being there as well. Kitchen had basic equipment and supplies for your cooking needs. We made crepes each morning and generally ate out at lunches. Dinners we kept simple like sauteed chicken, baked ziti, steak tacos, a salad with the beautiful purchases at the farmer's market and a quiche. A grocery store is close by and my brother and I walked to buy our groceries.

We made a day trip to Solvang, went on a whale watching tour, visited the wharf and the museum and just lazed around town and the beach. Maybe it was because we went in November but I was surprised that the beach didn't have many swimmers at that time. To get to the beach we made the short walk to State Street and then paid the .50cents for the trolley. It was a fun experience! Took all of like 10 minutes to get there.

This was my first rental home transaction, I had stayed with my older sister twice before in them but she had always been the contact, and Ruth really made it so easy. I hope all my future bookings will be as great as this one. We loved the neighborhood as well. We spoke with a few of the neighbors during our walks out. We hope to make a trip to Santa Barbara at least every other year, if not more, and we would definitely book this house each time we could.

I just stayed at this beautiful home for my semi-annual girls trip. This house was perfect, every little detail was thought of. We felt at home and super cozy all weekend. The communication with Ruth truly exceeded my expectations. We felt so welcomed before we even arrived to the house and the attentiveness was wonderful. We had no problems the entire weekend. The house is in a perfect location, literally in the middle of everything you need. Couldn't have asked for a better rental!

Santa Barbara Oasis

  • 5 of 5

This cozy little house delivers on every measure: comfortable beds, charming decor, amazing shower, great kitchen, super-convenient location walking distance from the heart of downtown, and even an orange tree next door. We spent the holidays there, and found it to be a perfect "home away from home." Ruth is an exceptional host who has mastered the details from check-in, to check out. From detailed instructions about the house, to helpful hints and tips for enjoying Santa Barbara, we felt like we had a champion in our corner every step of the way. Other reviewers have been equally glowing in their feedback, and it's well deserved. Would definitely book again!

Beautiful and Comfortable!!

  • 5 of 5

This vacation rental was just perfect! It is exceptionally well taken care of, and has all of the amenities needed. The layout is ideal, with a nice kitchen leading to a comfortable, fenced back patio area. The two bedrooms have plenty of room, and the bathroom is spacious and modern. There were four of us staying in the house and we all agreed that when we return to Santa Barbara....this is where we will stay! The neighborhood is nice and super close to State Street, just a few minutes to walk there. Ruth the owner was responsive and super easy to work with! I would highly recommend this property!!!
