Woodland Park Retreat w/ Views of Pikes Peak

Bedrooms 4
Space 1,632 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

4 bedroom 2 bath conveniently located

This property sits on the west edge of Woodland Park. It has a large wrap around deck with stunning views of Pikes Peak from the back of the property. You are conveniently close to town on a cul de sac with very little traffic.

Woodland Park is a quaint town with great little shops and amazing restaurants. The Dinosaur Museum is in the heart of town and down the road a bit is the start of Pikes Peak Hwy. The area provides ample opportunity for outdoor activities such as hiking, bird watching, or fishing. A 15 mile drive into Manitou Springs and you can enjoy Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, or Manitou Cliff Dwellings. Seven Falls, Air Force Academy and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo are located in Colorado Springs which is less than a 30 mile drive. Santa's Village is located along Pikes Peak Hwy along with many gift shops. Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, and the Hornbek Homestead are located outside Florissant which is a 15 mile drive from the house. Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center is located between Divide and Florissant. Enjoy a scenic drive to Cripple Creek, a historic mining town, for gambling. You may also decide to tour the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine or ride the Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad. Canon City and the Royal Gorge are about 60 miles away. Denver is approximately an hour and a half from the house if you'd like to visit the Denver Zoo, have fun at Elitch Gardens or take in a Colorado Rockies baseball game at Coors Field.

Adults staying at the house... there are several breweries within the Woodland Park, Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs and Divide area. Ute Pass Brewing Co and Bierworks are both located in Woodland Park and Paradox Beer Company is located in Divide which is only an 8 mile drive.

As you may notice from the pictures, the property does sit adjacent to Highway 24 and the traffic can be heavy at times. However, as mentioned above, the property itself sits off a frontage road on a cul de sac with very little traffic.

A side note, as is typical with mountain homes this house does not have air conditioning. Even though air conditioning is not listed in the amenities below we felt it worth mentioning separately so there is no confusion.

Check in time is 4:00 PM MST and check out time is 10:00 AM MST.

Per night discount for full weeks stay.

About Corey Jacobs

I was born and raised in Iowa where I currently live with my wife and two of our three children. I went to elementary, jr high and high school in the same small town which my children currently attend. I am a University of Northern Iowa graduate with a Mathematics degree. I'm a strategy director for a company I've been employed with for 11 years. My wife and I like to vacation with our children and the mountains have always been one of our favorite places.

Corey Jacobs purchased this house in 2016

Why Corey Jacobs chose Woodland Park

My family and I have vacationed in Colorado a few times and absolutely love the state with everything it has to offer. I wanted to purchase a home that would allow us to enjoy the scenery whenever we were able to make the trip. We would love for others to see and enjoy Colorado the way we have been able to enjoy it.

What makes this house unique

We chose this house because of the location. The wrap around deck and the views of Pikes Peak are breath taking. We also enjoyed the wood ceilings and gas fireplace. It's a convenient location to many different attractions. Woodland Park is a great town and we fell in love with it.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time here. It was quiet, centrally located and the house is very clean and has loads of dishes, towels, etc. Local attractions are nearby. We sat on the deck one evening and watched 2 fawns settle in for the night right there in the yard. On the last evening we even saw a rainbow.

Very nice!!!

  • 5 of 5

This home has everything to make your vacation complete. We absolutely loved the location and convenience and the deer would literally walk up to the back deck. The views from the hilltop were breathtaking. We sat and watched the sun come up over the Rockies and lite up the face of Pikes Peak. We would definitely recommend this home.

We loved it and will choose this home again the next time we vacation in Colorado.

  • 5 of 5

This was only the 2nd time we have used VRBO for a vacation. We were not disappointed! The house had EVERYTHING that we needed. We used the home as a base camp and spent the days visiting the sites we wanted to se in Colorado.

Everything in the home worked as it should have. The deer visited several times and my 2 grandkids loved watching them. The steps behind the house took you to a beautiful view of the mountains. We would have loved to built a fire in the fire pit, but due to dry conditions, it was not allowed (maybe next time). There is a small patio 3/4's of the way up that you can use to view the mountains.

Woodland Park has every amenty you need to survive away from home

It was just a short 15 miles back to Colorado Springs on highway 24 to visit Garden of the Gods, the Cliff Dwellings, Cave of the Winds, Old Colorado City, Maneteau Springs and about 2 hours to see the Royal Gorge.

Corey, thank you for providing an awesome home to use. We will recommend this home to anyone vacationing in the Colorado Springs area.

Beautiful, warm atmosphere

  • 5 of 5

When you walk into this beautiful home, you immediately feel the warmth. From the warm and accommodating owner to the sippy cup in the cabinet, you feel comfortable and relaxed. A doe and her fawn visited one evening. Conveniently located to area attractions. I would highly recommend this home and would definitely stay here again if in Colorado.

Thank you for sharing your home with us! Your house was so comfortable and we had plenty of space for all 7 of us. This home was convienently located to Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, and Seven Falls. We were able to get groceries in town as well. We look forward to returning!

This was the first vacation for our family of 5 in many years, and this house was a big part of a wonderful time. From the minute that we walked in we felt at home and comfortable. The décor is great, and the views cannot be beat. There was plenty of room for us to gather to eat, play games, and to watch movies together. The house is within walking distance into town which made for a nice walk to the store, gas station, bakeries, and the other shops located in Woodland Park. Prior to our arrival and throughout our stay, the hosts were quick to respond to any questions that we had, and offered suggestions of places to eat and to visit. I would definitely stay in this house again and will be recommending it to others. Thank you to the hosts for letting us enjoy your beautiful home for our family vacation!
