About Pam Oakes
We are Steve and Pam Oakes from West Chester, Ohio. Steve is a retired police sergeant from our local police department and Pam currently works for a local Jeweler in West Chester. We have been enjoying Dale Hollow for close to 40 years and feel there is no better place for quality time with family and friends.
Pam Oakes purchased this Cabin in 1999
Why Pam Oakes chose Pickett County
Steve's father purchased the property in 1999 and passed it down to the family for future generations to enjoy. We feel blessed to have such a beautiful place to call our home away from home.
What makes this Cabin unique
We love having a place with room to spread out, but also close to the lake. We enjoy boating for much of the day then returning to the property for dinner, corn hole, cards and quality time around the fire pit. The views of the lake from Oak Hill Road are just beautiful and the walk down to the lake from the end of the road quite an adventure. We have several family and friends who say there is no better fishing than Dale Hollow :)

Beautiful place and wonderful cabin!
We were extremely happy to get a chance to stay here for Thanksgiving weekend. The place is really great: nice and quiet. The nature is outstanding. The cabin was great, clean and had everything the one might need and even more.
Great as usual
We have stayed here several times. Never disappointed.
Cozy Cabin With that on that Cabin on the Lake Charm
Well cared for, very clean, and properly equipped cabin for a couple of people. My best friend and I visited to fish the infamous Dale Hollow Lake for smallmouth bass. This cabin provided comfortable and quiet evenings after long days on the lake chasing bronzebacks. This cabin could easily be the destination for a weekend of solitude and relaxation. Nice big covered front porch with a rocking chair and a covered back porch with a charcoal grill. Good parking and access to the cabin.
Thank you Dana! We apprecuate hearing that you enjoyed your time on DHL and Anchors Aweigh. We would love to have you back anytime. Kindly, Pam and Steve
Peaceful and perfect
We love this cabin. This was our second time there. It's so cute and cozy and has everything you need. We especially enjoy the back porch and fire pit. It's very private and peaceful on the porch. Location is perfect too. We use both Eagle Creek and Star Point Marinas. The bed and pillows are really comfortable. Cabin is very clean!
Thanks so much Karen! We love hearing that you enjoy the cabin and the beautiful area. Can't say how much we appreciate the kind words and continued business. Kindly, Pam and Steve
Beautiful, clean and cozy!
This cabin has everything that you need for a getaway weekend ... it is well decorated, cozy, the bed is amazing comfortable! It is in a very quite and private area. The size of the cabin is perfect for two. The kitchen is spacious.
There is not much to do around, other than going to the lake , but it is perfect for a relaxed days off.
Pam, the owner , is very nice and always respond fast.

Visiting from Florida
Cozy, clean cabin in the woods, close to the marina. Bring your food to cook or grill. All amenities packed into this one bedroom. We saw deer in the back and fireflies at dusk. We enjoyed a campfire each night!
Thank you so much for the nice review. We appreciate you! So glad to hear you had a nice, successful trip.
We would love to have you both back again at any time. Kindly, Pam and Steve
Enjoy all the beauty and nature that the lake and surrounding area have to offer. Boater as well as non-bothers will enjoy the laid back atmosphere and beautiful, scenic drives/hikes/walks. Sunset Resort and Eagle Cove Marina are both within 4 miles of the property. Both marinas have boat launching ramps and slips available. The Cordell Hull birthplace museum and Bunkum Cave are a short drive and directly across the street from each other on Cordell Hull Drive. If you enjoy antiquing, take a 30 minute drive to Livingston and walk the town square to visit several charming shops. The J & B Stuff store on 111 in Byrdstown also has a few antiques and is quite unique.
