About Justine Beck Rose

Jonathan is a master woodworker/furniture maker and jazz musician. His many talents help us to furnish and restore the home. To see some of his work, google him (The Building Arts Co). He's also runs The Fret Shop at 30 S Braddock St - that repairs, sells and consigns fretted instruments (from guitars to dulcimers.) Justine works for the local public school system helping to support kids and families. Our family loves history and being outdoors - our vacations often feature trips to National Parks and historic sites. We live in a restored farmhouse outside of Winchester with our dog, cats and some chickens.

Why Justine Beck Rose chose Winchester

We love old historic homes and purchased this house from friends. Although we live in the country, we appreciate the time we spend at this house in Winchester - what a treat to be able to walk to restaurants, parks, concerts or so much more.

What makes this house unique

Even though you're staying right in the historic district, right 'downtown' the house is quiet and the yard has been described as an oasis. Lots of our guests are so happy to be able to arrive, park their car and walk everywhere they want to go for the entire stary.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Really enjoyed our stay -- Winchester was a delightful surprise! The house is great -- nice work! We'll be back.

Home from home

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this beautiful old house. So much room (we all had our favorite places to hide out in :) and every possible item provided making it a true home from home. This was a great base for day trips to the amazing caverns in the area and also for D.C. The homeowners went "above and beyond" to be friendly and helpful. Hope to come back someday and will definately reccommend to others!

Great Spot near Town

  • 5 of 5

Really neat old house with tons of character and old artifacts. Made for interesting browsing!

The house is clean, well organized and very well equipped (About the only negative is the age of the TV, but hey!, maybe next year)

It made an Annual golf getaway a lot more fun being able to walk most places in the evening.

Even though we never actually met, Justine was a great communicator and host. See you next year!

2 minute walk from downtown Winchester!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a weekend of bike racing. The house had more than enough space for us, our bikes, our dog and our appetite! The house is a 2 minute walk from downtown Winchester and we were also able to use the spacious kitchen.

To make everything even better, the own was extremely responsive to both email and phone calls and very accommodating to requests. I will be booking for the same weekend in 2017.

A Delight and So Helpful to Stage For My Daughter's Wedding

  • 5 of 5

The Peter Miller home was beautiful and very comfortable. Our daughter was getting married at a local venue. Since we live on the West Coast I needed a home away from home to stage gift bags, gather other wedding related items, receive my husband and other kids just before the weekend, and then a place to bring back items after the wedding. The location was perfect to walk to downtown restaurants. The wifi access was very good, and helped me stay on task. The kitchen had all of the cooking and coffee items necessary for a family. We had a great experience and helped me put on a successful wedding. Thank you very much to the owners for such a comfortable and lovely home experience.
