About Amy Erskine Hinitt
I'm local, my husband is a Texan. We've been spending summers here with our two girls since 2009 while maintaining residency in San Antonio. In 2016 we decided our hearts are in Maine and we have moved here permanently, in fact we now live just 2 miles away.
Amy Erskine Hinitt purchased this Cottage in 2009
Why Amy Erskine Hinitt chose Willard Beach
We love the vibe of Willard Beach and this home in particular and you will too. The location is prime, the neighbors are friendly and the house has a wonderful natural light and wood floors throughout. We love it so much, we plan to move back once our children have grown and gone to college.
What makes this Cottage unique
The lighthouse's foghorn sounds, the sea air and the glimpse water views are such a delight and constant invitation to walk just 7 houses to the beach. Paved walking trails at the end of the street take you to view 4 lighthouses, islands and Portland just a 3 mile loop. You will love sitting on the front porch as people stroll by walking their dogs to the beach for dog time, 7-9 am and pm.

Willard Beach Cottage
Very nice cottage, so cute, beachy decor, very clean & comfortable. Has everything you need for cooking, utilities & entertainment. Many restaraunts are near by. Beach is very nice & close with parks & walking paths to enjoy. Loved sitting on the front porch in comfy chairs, watching many friendly people and their dogs walk by. Highly recommend and would come again!
Great spot great value!
Second time at this property. It works very nicely all the way around. Easy beach access. Close to downtown Portland. Best beaches in So Maine are 15 mins away. The house is great /charming and in a cool neighborhood in SoPo. Book it for sure it can sleep 10 with comfort and ease.
We had a great stay at The Cottage! Amy was very accommodating and pleasant. We were a family of 6 adults and 2 one yr olds and the house was just the right size. The beds were very comfortable and we all loved the front porch! It was roomy and each day you got to see people and their dogs walking down to Willard beach. I would recommend this place with 5 stars! Thank you Amy
Quint Cottage by the sea
We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at this cottage. We met up with the owners the day we checked in, they offered some extra beach toys for us to use during our stay. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Every morning we walked to the Scratch Bakery for breakfast and coffee, and most evenings we walked to get homemade local ice cream. We rode bikes to 3 lighthouses and into Portland. The area is very bike friendly.
The house had everything we needed, the bedrooms were good size, the basement (kids space) was very spacious with a tv and bathroom. Would highly recommend this cute cottage for a nice relaxing family vacation.
Charming house in a perfect location!
Our group of 8 stayed here during our friend's wedding in Scarborough. If you're coming to experience the best of Maine and have a relaxing vacation, this house is in the best location! It's a 5 minute walk to Scratch Bakery and around the corner from a lovely small beach. The house itself is clean and very charming and Amy was extremely helpful prior to our arrival. The bedrooms are nicely sized but the house is definitely on the cozier side (i.e. I could loudly hear the floorboards creaking when people were walking around or opening doors). And only 1.5 bathrooms with 8 people can be a challenge and something to consider. I also wish the kitchen tools were better or there were non-perishable pantry essentials such as salt, pepper, oil, etc. We ended up borrowing some of these items the first morning from the other Airbnb our friends were staying at down the street. But overall we had a great time!
This is a great house in a great spot....Amy was really nice to work with. Location is fabo
I grew up in Portland. This area of So Portland is hip and fun. Beach right there...boating around the corner and the best Bakery on the face of the earth with in a short walk. The value for the price is really great. No air and it was weirdly hot when we were there but open windows and a fan in every room did the trick. Come chill in Maine. We will go back again this summer!
Located 3-miles from Portland, Maine. Willard Beach is a small sand and pebble beach tucked away between Fisherman’s Point and the campus of Southern Maine Community College in a quiet neighborhood of South Portland. Just four acres in size the beach is enjoyed immensely by visitors and locals alike. Spread out in the sun and take in the views of Cushing Island and Ram Island Light in Casco Bay. Go for a refreshing swim, breathe in the salty air, listen to the buoys clang offshore and watch the ferries ply the waters of the bay. The bathhouse is open in summer, and has restrooms, a snack bar and showers. There is parking for 75 cars a short walk from the beach. Dogs are allowed in summer, but only before 9 a.m. and after 7 p.m. The Spring Point Shoreway Trail leads a short distance to Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse, in operation since 1897 at the entrance to Portland Harbor.
