Great location, cozy lakehouse with plenty of room!
Cozy but spacious older lakehouse with a great deck and double-decker dock! Great views and peaceful mornings with the sounds of the birds all around. Cozy lounging area with plenty to do in all seasons. Being here this week makes me want to move back to NC! Owner Brian was quick to respond to one minor issue. Would stay again for sure!
Fantastic home on the lake!!
We had a wonderful time at this home right on the lake. We were there in late December/early January, unfortunately in one of the coldest weeks we've had in a while, but still had a great time. The house has an open, yet cozy feel, perfect for curling up with a good book by the fire or watching a movie or football game on TV. Brian, the owner, was incredibly helpful and responsive to any needs we had. When he says he responds within an hour, he really means it!
The raised dock has a fantastic view, probably the best in the cove, though it was a bit too cold to hang out up there for long. The kitchen, while small, had everything we needed to cook meals throughout the week. The large dining room table was perfect to gather around to talk after a meal, or to spread out and play a board game.
The ONLY reason I gave this home 4 stars instead of 5 (if I could give it 4.5 I would), is because it really is more of a summer house than a winter house (though set up very well for our needs in the coldest week of the year). So the one suggestion I have is to provide some standing propane heaters, or some outdoor heating solution, on the back porch for those days when it's in the mid-40s outside. I may have spent half the week on that fantastic back porch if there were heaters to help with the chill! Again, it was the coldest week of the year and we knew what we were getting into, but I think this one modification would make it even better for winter vacationing.
I highly recommend this home for a winter vacation, and though I don't have experience with it in the summer, I can only imagine it would be perfect!
Beautiful lake views and a cozy house.
The house was perfectly situated on a lake tucked in a very nice area next to the pointe trumps golf course. The house felt like grandmas house very comfortable. We had a great thanks giving there all amenities were as they say they were. Fireplace was awesome on cold nights only regret is that we didn’t rent a boat. Owner is easy to work with and very hospitable. Looking forward to renting in the summer.
Had a GREAT TIME
Perfect place to go with 3 teenagers. The minute we got there they all ran down to the lake and started taking turns in the kayak and on the paddle-board. House needs updating but we didn't care since we were with the kids. One thing we had to do was clean out the grills on the deck. Once we did we were able to use the propane one and cookout. All in all it was a great vacation.
Linda, I am sorry about the grills. our cleaning people are supposed to clean them. We will make sure this is corrected. Thanks for visiting.
Excellent views from the 2-story dock! Spacious cottage, friendly owner.
This cottage had more than enough room for our party of 5 adults. The owner, Brian was a pleasure to do business with, was attentive and expedient to our requests. The layout of the cottage is great for any lake visit with a large open living area, dining area and master bedroom. The galley kitchen although small was filled with all the amenities you will ever need for any length of stay. There were no complaints from the other adults regarding the 3 additional bedrooms.
The front of the cottage facing the lake offers both a large deck and a large screened porch area. Both offered nice tables for dinng or playing board games.
The 2-story dock was a nice
bonus as you could sit in the lounge chairs or lie in the chaise lounges and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. Access to the water was by this dock which had 2 ladders.
Brian brought us over a paddle board and a kayak upon request and we enjoyed those extensively. Even the next door neighbor was nice enough to let us use one of his kayaks! Great people on a great lake!
Would definitely recommend this cottage to most any family. Very safe and quiet area. Nice owner.
Just watch out for the falling acorns!
The house and property were wonderful, exceeding our expectations.
The house was charming and homey. The three dining options offered us the choice of eating inside in the air conditioning, outside on the screened in porch or on the deck with roof. We enjoyed all three during our stay. The four bedrooms and two bathrooms were more than enough room for our family, girls and boys.
The dock was spectacular with the upper and lower levels. I enjoyed peaceful mornings as the sun rose and was able to see deer along the woods at the end of the cove. We all enjoyed sunsets from the dock also.
With the house being located on a cove, we were able to swim in the water by the dock. We also went kayaking every morning and evening in the lake.
The house was located near, but not too close, to the main road where I could walk each day. I enjoyed seeing many runners and bikers using the area. Shopping and eating opportunities were nearby and accessible by car. However, the house was situated in a private area that was very quiet and peaceful.
We took day trips to Charlotte and surrounding areas, and my husband golfed at a few nearby golf courses.
I would recommend this property to any family interested in enjoying quality time together at Lake Norman.
