Beauitful Lake/OK accommodations/thank you for being puppy friendly
The purpose of our trip was to get together with our children for lake fun and family time and also decide if we want to relocate to the Lake Norman area and or Charlotte. This is truly a cabin on the lake. The home is a bit rustic and older. It is in a very nice neighborhood with it being the lesser of very nice homes, good walking and down street from an elite golf course. The view of the lake was amazing. The screened in porch and deck both had an amazing view. We appreciated the fenced in yard for the pups. The dock was wonderful with nice comfortable seating for lounging and we even had dinner out there one evening. There is also a fun floating swimming dock. (just watch out for gritters, southern lakes unfortunately have snakes). We did see a muskrat swimming in the lake (cute) and lots of ducks with their families. We rented a pontoon boat which was great fun! The lake is a very large beautiful lake. We loved the boat!!!!! It is a bit of a driving trek to Charlotte depending on where in Charlotte. Mooresville is a nice area with good restaurants, decent grocery stores and shopping. We loved the area! The kitchen was well equipped, I am a cook and I use kitchens when I travel.
The improvement list: Although the rental folks were very nice to do deal with, the cabin itself is a bit pricey for the accommodations. (you pay for the lake and view) The cabin looks better in the photos. It appeared to be clean when we got there. (I did take a swifter to the floors) The floors could have been cleaner, hence my dirty socks. The beds were pretty comfortable although the furniture in living room is not comfortable. The screen door is rigged to stay shut, need to upgrade dishwashing towels, towel rack in master bedroom falls off. The front yard looks rough and needs landscaping, maybe throw some mulch around. The cabin itself is not luxury. I realize we are paying for lake and view. We felt like it could be spruced up a bit, especially for the price. Put a shine on the cabin, spruce it up a bit, especially front yard. The shelf on with TV on downstairs looked a little dingy. The cabin is older and a bit rustic including the grounds and landscaping.
We do however, love Lake Norman, Mooresville and Charlotte. We will be moving to the area soon. The Prickly Pear, Famous Toastery were good eatery's. The Patisserie Café made a great birthday cake and cupcakes for all our birthdays, and is good for lunch. There are many more restaurants to explore. Fun!
Amazing place on great property. Great Lake house
Loved it and will return
Great Place and Great Staff !!!!!!!!!
Our first family vacation couldn't of been better. Danny and His wife Sheryl made the experience seamless and enjoyable. Will be back again shortly for another trip.
Great time at waterfront cabin
The place was perfect and so quiet. We were close to our relatives here. The quiet neighborhood and waterfront was just right for our scared and timid dog. We would definitely stay there again!
The property was very nice and a great view of the lake. Dogs swam and we kyaked.
The furniture inside the enclosed porch was never cleaned or the table and chairs outside. We washed it all down so we could use it. I know the pollen was bad at the time we were there but there was no way it was cleaned that Saturday before we arrived. Only other issue was the air conditioner wasn't working but Danny was a great guy and brought in another unit which was great. And yes I would stay there again. Our problem is we always have to look for pet friendly places to stay . My son lives in that area and it worked out well for our visit. It is definitely a beautiful area to see.
Thank you Diane for your review and feedback. The pollen has been heavy at the home with all the trees and we are all excited that the pollen season is over. The cleaners have been spoken to as well and steps have been implemented to ensure this will not be an issue. Looking forward to your next visit!
Amazing Lake Cabin!
What a fantastic place! Our friend was getting married at the Golf Course down the road, so a group of 6 of us stayed at the cabin. It was the perfect size and we loved going down to sit by the lake.
If you plan on making a lot of coffee, take a coffee maker with you... they only have a 1 cup coffee machine.
We loved be nestled in the woods and having direct access to the lake. Open, airy, clean, and inviting.
