About Eve Chavela
We are 3 sisters who grew up in Texas, camping with our parents for every holiday and vacation. We share our love for the Texas hill country, and spend as much time as possible with our families and friends out here; cooking, swimming, playing games, reading and just watching the birds.
Eve Chavela purchased this House in 1985
Why Eve Chavela chose Wimberley
It is a beautiful, unique, homey ranch house, built by hand by our dad for our family, and located in the center of the Texas hill country woodlands. Growing up, our kids loved that it was close to the sports and water activities that are so appealing in the long, hot Texas summer - while we loved being able to cook dinner in a kitchen big enough for our family to share. A rural escape from city life, the house and especially the surrounding porches, have always provided us a wonderful way to experience the outdoors on cold autumn mornings or the hottest summer days. From the porch, we have watched the changing seasons, the variety of wildflowers, the amazing quantity of different birds, the deer, the oak trees and the cedars, and that inimitable Texas sky. We and our families have worked really hard to maintain the house and to continue to keep it in our family, and we hope that our guests enjoy their time spent here as much as we have. What makes this House unique
Our ranch offers our visitors a rural escape from the frantic pace of the city to a natural world filled with bird songs, foraging deer, or the occasional fox. In the summer, we are centally located to some of the best places for all things fun and water-related such as Cypress Creek or Blue Hole in Wimberley, to tubing on the Guadalupe or fishing at Canyon Lake. Great bar-b-que or a sampling of local Texas wines or beer is a scenic 30 minute trip to Fredericksburg. In the spring the fields around us are full of the famous Texas wildflowers, but if porch-sitting isn't your thing there's always rock-climbing at Enchanted Rock or zip-lining in the hills.

Amazing Property in the BEAUTIFUL HILL COUNTRY
We had a wonderful time.
Amazing Hill country retreat
My friends and I had an amazing time here. It rained a bit but the pool was perfect to jump in once the rain cleared. It was nice and secluded so we weren’t bothering anyone and just everything we could’ve wanted in a place to stay
Thanks for that lovely review, and I hope you come back sometime. You and your group left our house in perfect shape and I’m so glad there was enough sunshine for you to enjoy the pool!
Beautiful, rustic home - great for families!
If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in the hill country, I highly recommend this property. Eve was a great communicator and made sure we knew all important information before finalizing our booking. The house has great views, plenty of space (we we're four families with four kids!), and the pool being detached from the house actually worked great for supervision purposes. The house is loaded with character and fully stocked with all of your kitchen needs. We'll definitely be back!
Great Labor Day
We had a great Labor Day weekend! Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home.
Very remote rustic home, and I mean remote and rustic. Beautiful porch and sunrise, but be prepared it’s in the middle of nowhere and it is a wood framed rustic house. We had some issues and the owner was gracious and kind. If you want to get back to nature, this would be perfect.
Zip lining, pontoon boating at Canyon Lake, horse back riding, hiking, bird watching, and antiqueing
