3 bedroom accommodation in Sandyhills
Lots of room for improvement.
The holiday village was lovely, peaceful, beautiful and well maintained and looked after. Lots of wildlife to watch including badgers, rabbits, bees, birds, swans, ducks etc. The majority of the lodges were well maintained however this one wasn't.
HomeAway were merely the agent that put us through to another booking company for a 12% fee. The other booking company had to take the brunt of our complaints. The lodge was run down and needed exterior and interior upkeep maintenance. The kitchen utensils had seen better days and we were offered some money off to go and buy more saucepans etc., as the owner was selling the property so weren't investing in the upkeep.
The property wasn't clean. We pulled one bed back to discover a dirty sock from a previous guest. Everything such as floor and surfaces were sticky. Kitchen cupboards were greasy. Furniture was broken and drawers were dirty inside. Items inside the cupboards were sticky and dirt and discarded food from previous guests were under the sofa. The sofa was in pieces and they separated when you sat on it to show the mess underneath.
This property is not fit to be let to paying guests and we feel very disappointed that we put our trust in holiday agents advertising it as such. Had it not been for the lovely surroundings of the holiday village our holiday would have been ruined.
We will not recommend this lodge nor will we visit again.
