About Sylvie Ferrari
I now live in Europe but together with my family I spent few years in Asia and in United States. My family and I love Tuscany and have been there every year since 30 years . We have friends in Cortona area .
Why Sylvie Ferrari chose Cortona
We always dreamed to find a house there and fell immediately in love with Casa Al Campo because it entails all we love about Tuscany. Besides the charm and character of the well restored farm we really enjoyed its location : man made landscape combined with unspoilt nature ,medieval and renaissance art of Tuscany and Umbria all around, traces of history everywhere. It starts from the estrucans defense walls of Cortona to the battle field of Hannibal against the romans (in 217BC) and culminates with the well preserved town of Cortona with its proud and welcoming inhabitants.
What makes this Villa unique
The place is timeless and serene .

Amazing Villa near Cortona!
Wow! This place is amazing! We booked our stay for May of this year. I was looking for an authentic Villa/Farmhouse, and Casa Il Campo was the perfect fit! This property is absolutely gorgeous! Sylvie was an amazing host, and responded to our email right away. We arrived later in the evening, and we were warmly welcomed with yummy treats! After a long day of travel, this was such a nice touch! The home is absolutely beautiful, and well cared for. Aside from the weather, there is not one negative about our whole experience! Enjoy this beautiful place!

Everything about this home was PERFECT
We couldn’t have had a more perfect week in this gorgeous villa. It was beyond our expectations and we loved our stay here.
Thank you so much for your review and I am so happy you enjoyed your stay.
I hope to have the pleasure to welcome you another time in my property.
This place exceeded our expectations—it was the quintessential Tuscan getaway experience. The house is cozy, well equipped and beautifully yet simply decorated. The grounds are gorgeous and impeccably maintained and so very relaxing. The owner is clearly an art lover, and each bedroom is named after a noted Italian artist and contains art books about the particular artist. The owner left relevant information about Tuscany including her own personal recommendations about restaurants and vineyards.
We were a group of four women celebrating our mutual birthdays and this was the perfect place to relax Under the Tuscan Sun and use as a base to explore the neighboring hill towns. Truly the experience of a lifetime. Thank you Sylvie!
Wow! What a stunning place to stay!
My husband and I and two other couples were lucky enough to spend a week in this beautifully restored Tuscan stone house. Upon our arrival we found welcome provisions that were more than enough for our dinner and breakfast. This was such a nice surprise after a day of driving even though groceries are found a short drive away. As we explored our new house and surroundings were were continually pleasantly surprised. From the beautifully restored interior of this generous house to the large manicured yard with it's abundant trees, fruit trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawn. The crystal clear pool was so inviting and larger than we expected. My husband was so happy to see a Weber kettle BBQ that I think he actually hugged it! We used it almost every night as we dined outside at the table in the covered veranda. The kitchen was very well equipped and large enough for several people to be preparing meals together. The house was a perfect fit for three couples with bedrooms spacious and removed enough from each other for everyone to have their privacy. Between the large house and grounds there was always a place for a person to find a quiet place to be if they desired. On top of all of this, housecleaners actually came in midweek to clean. Sylvie was responsive throughout the entire rental process and quickly responded to my many questions. Although we have stayed in this area before, this was the best ever! I cannot recommend this beautiful house to highly!
Thank you so much for taking your time to write a review on your stay at my property. I am so glad you had the experience of a "stunning place to stay"!
This villa was absolutely perfect. We were traveling as a family of 3 and our close friend/nanny. There was more than enough room for us all and there was even a suite that was somewhat seperate from the rest of the house which allowed our nanny to have some privacy. The kitchen was well stocked, and there was plenty of dining areas if you wanted to eat in. The villa had everything we needed for our nearly 2 year old daughter including a crib, high chair, baby gates, eating utensils, and laundry machine which came in very handy. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and we ended up spending most of our time outside enjoying the pool, picking figs and grapes from the trees on the property, or just finding a place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The owner was kind enough to leave a welcome basket of goodies upon our arrival so we didn’t feel the rush to get to the grocery store our first day. The location is perfect, within easy access to many of the best places in Tuscany and Umbria. We would definitely stay here again!
It has been a great pleasure to have you at my property. I am glad you had a wonderful experience there and I hope you will come back as there are still so many places you could discover around Cortona.
A fabulous villa in a beautiful garden with vineyard and olive grove
We had an absolutely amazing week at Casa al Campo. The house was spacious (we were two families of four), comfortable, tastefully decorated with a sense of authenticity, very well equipped (the kitchen had everything one might need) and we really felt it was a home away from home. The garden was fabulous with all the different aspects; roses, herbs, fruit trees (lemons, kumquats, pears, apricots) and the olive grove; we benefitted from a windfall from the fig tree after a stormy afternoon; a real bonus.
Giada was a gracious host and one evening had prepared us a lovely meal, enjoyed by all. The good-sized swimming pool was excellent as well and apart from a few day trips to Cortona (only about 20 min away by car), Montepulciano and Gubbio, we spend a lot of time in and around the pool relaxing in this beautiful part of Tuscany, on the border with Umbria.
Casa al Campo is a real gem - everything about it is perfect and we look forward to coming back sometime in the future.
Many thanks for your kind review and i hope you will come back to casa Al Campo.
The house is situated near the charming little village of Montanare in southern Tuscany. This romantic and tranquil family home is the ideal base to explore the historic hill towns of Tucany and Umbria. Cortona's Museo Diocesano and Museo Etrusco are world renowned. In the summer Cortona hosts an international photo festival high praised 'Cortona on the move ' and the Cortona Mix Festival (concerts, ballets, cooking classes ,movies...). The Cortona Antiques' Fair is one of the most important in Italy (September). Other wonderful attractions include the Palio in Siena and the Giostra del Saraceno (jousting) in Arezzo.
Perugia, Assisi,Orvieto,Castiglione del Lago ,Citta della Pieve are lovely big villages in Umbria to discover. In Tuscany ,Siena, Montepulciano, Piensa, Citta di Castello,Arezzo,Florence , amongst others are also inreresting to visit and all within easy access by car or by train .
Other Activities: walking, cycling, tennis on the hills of Cortona
Golf: There is a nine hole course at Panicarola, about 20 km away. A number of 18 hole courses are located within 40 minutes of the house as the perugia golf club .
