About Valerie Baillargeon
Hello I'm Valerie ! I'm a Canadian artist living in Montreal. I delight in creating huge, boldly colourful drawings that often incorporate intricate patterns & designs. I spent my childhood summers in Ogunquit since I was 18 months old. My love for this beautiful village by the sea is set in stone and irrevocable and definitely feels like a second home to me. I'm divorced and have 3 wonderful children that are the light of my life.
Valerie Baillargeon purchased this Cottage in 2012
Why Valerie Baillargeon chose Ogunquit
This property has a unique feel and quality about it not only due to it's proximity to the ocean but also due to the configuration of the landscape surrounding it that is so evocative of the English countryside. It is part of the old Perkin's farm which comprised mainly dwellings and farmers reaping a life off the pastureland. History is redolent especially upon entering the tiny cemetery at the back of the house where century old ancestors lie at rest. I would be happy to live here and listen to the sound of the waves and smell the ocean air every day for the rest of my life. In a nutshell...Jack's Cove makes everyone feel happy and at peace ! I feel privileged to own this stunning property and forever grateful that life conspired to send it my way ! My mother gave it to me at 97 and we spent a wonderful last summer here together.
What makes this Cottage unique
This property is so reminiscent of the old Ogunquit cottage life...comfortable without being ostentatious, charming without being fussy. It's light and airy and fresh and soothing to the soul. It's location at the entry to Perkin's Cove Harbour is ideal for watching all kinds of fishing boast, sailboats and tourist excursions heading in and out of it every few minutes especially with a glass of wine in hand. All who find their way here are immediately drawn in by it's unique qualities. A few special guests found their way here towards the end of their personal journey and found peace and solace of heart whilst forging final family memories. For this I am deeply touched and grateful to have met them and facilitated their experience here. I also love my wild rosebushes that if well cared for always love me back with a multitude of gorgeous pink blooms. Traveling from Montreal, I always consider Jack's Cove as reward & respite at the end of a long journey. I often call it : "Way's End"...
