A couples retreat. Enjoy our spacious 900 sf one bedroom vacation rental with separate entrance in the heart of New Orleans. Our home was built in 1890 in Victorian Style. Feel safe with our 24 hour Garden District Private Patrol. We have lived in the home for over 14 years and love the neighborhood. Your apartment has one bedroom with king size bed, living room, kitchen, and bath. We are 2 short blocks from the Fresh Market grocery and in walking distance of many local bars and restaurants including famous Commander's Palace. Just steps away from parades and streetcar. We want you to enjoy all the city has to offer and do not have a television in this unit. Many quests choose to bring their laptops for late night Netflix movies in bed with the free WiFi. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our Southern hospitality. Very close to Touro Hospital and Rehab.

About Joelle Leali
We are New Orleans natives and looking forward to sharing our city with you. We are a family of five raising three teenage daughters in the downstairs unit. We also have one standard poodle.. We are available if you need us for any suggestions or concerns and always happy to give local insight so that you can most enjoy your stay in the city. But, because of the separate side entrance many guests access our keyless entry and do not see us for the duration of their trip. It is up to you!
Joelle Leali purchased this Apartment in 2002
Why Joelle Leali chose Touro
Our home is in one of the best neighborhoods in the city and we are in walking distance of LOTS of restaurants, bars, grocery stores, specialty shops, and so much more.

Relaxing Spacious Convenient
I really enjoyed this spacious apartment during the 2nd weekend of Jazz Fest. The rooms are large, and the high ceiling just enhanced the overall spaciousness. With all of the amenities, it felt like home. Being 2 block from the St. Charles street car made getting around very easy, with out the hassle of driving around everyday. Thanks Joelle for providing such a great place!
Perfectly located in the Garden District. 2 blocks from the St. Charles street car and 2 blocks from Magazine St. Also a short walk to the Lafayette Cemetery. The unit was clean and the on site owner was very helpful. You have to walk up 2 flights of stairs, so if you have problems with stairs this isn't for you. Will stay here again.
Thank you for your response. We appreciate your feedback. I just wanted to clarify for future guests that the apartment is on the second floor with only one flight of stairs. It may seem like two because the downstairs has 14 feet ceilings and the stairwell is a split style. I agree that it may not be perfect choice if stairs are an issue but only one "flight".
Loved our stay in the Garden District
We really enjoyed staying in the middle of the beautiful garden district of NOLA. This home has history itself. We enjoyed visiting with Joelle. The accommodations were roomy and quiet. Although we didn’t use the kitchen, it has everything you need to do some cooking. We walked the two blocks each day to catch the St Charles streetcar which connected us to all parts of NO. Great trip all around and would stay here again!
Thank you for your feedback and we are glad you enjoyed your stay.
Large space in the Garden District
This a large bright unit on a nice street in the Garden District. Public transportation is close by. Two blocks north you find the St. Charles Street car running into town 24 hours a day. The same distance south you find the lively Magazine Street with a quick bus service to the French Quarter during the day. And you can ride both of these all day after buying a $3 regional transit day-pass. This day pass is worthwhile. The street is under heavy construction at the moment which means it is more noisy than we expected in the early morning.
The bed was comfy and the kitchen and living room were fully satisfactory. However, the shower curtain is too small and as a result it is very difficult to shower without getting water all over the floor.
The owner is very responsive to texts and quickly provided what was missing when we asked. However the owner was not that knowledgeable in answering my touristy questions. (such as how to buy a daily bus pass) and was surprised when I wanted to meet her, even though she lives downstairs. I was expecting the owner to be a bit more hospitable in person.
Also, when I reserved this accommodation I had to pay an extra fee of about $65 for damage deposit insurance, or else leave a damage deposit in advance of roughly $1500. I found this surprising and a bit high.
The house was well taken care of.
There was more than enough room for two of us to stay here. The bed was very comfortable. Though we didn't really use it, it was nice to have access to a full kitchen.
Loved the place. Perfectly situated. I slept like a baby on that bed.
