I grew up in the Norfolk, Va. area. I have lived outside of Raleigh, NC for 28 years. I work inside, but really enjoy being outside.I love to go on new adventures. My husband and I enjoy hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and biking.
Sue Fitzgerald purchased this condo in 2002
All throughout my life I have traveled through or around the Blue Ridge Mountains to visit family. A friend owned our condo and invited us to come fora weekend. That was our first trip to Sugar Mountain. We enjoyed our stay and the area. Our friend offered for us to buy, and we took him up on it. We consider this property a blessing.
This condo is within walking distance to the ski slopes. The condo is in a quiet area. It is in proximity to many attractions such as Grandfather Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, Blowing Rock, Linville Falls, ASU and many walking trails.. There are different festivals nearby throughout the year such as the Highland Games, the Wooly Worm festival and Octoberfest.
You need to expierece for yourself. Great for the price owner is honest.
Perfect for a short ski trip close to the ski slopes at Sugar Mountain great price
This place is conviently located walking distance to the slopes. It’s close to Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. Owners were friendly and easy to work with. The place looks exact like the pictures and is very cozy. We plan to come back.
Short walk to the slopes. Perfect for our family of four.
Nice condo, responsive host, but the pullout couch has seen its better days. One of the bed legs is broken and the frame is really hard for the back. Remember to bring your linens, towels, toiletries, toilet paper. No washer/dryer, which is a bummer given it's located on a ski resort. The internet was great but overall the appliances are very old. The stove works well but it looks like it's from the 1950s. :) Again, the stay was overall great especially considering what you pay for it and its location.
The description given and the pics on the site matched up exactly with what we experienced. The condo was perfect for the two of us. Location is only a few minutes walk from Sugar Mountain Resort (perfect for skiers) and only a few minutes drive from Banner Elk. We enjoyed our stay.
Hemlock Heaven is a condo on Sugar Mountain which is a ski resort. The ski slopes are a short walk from the condo. However, it is beautiful all year around. The fall leaves are magnificent. There are several festivals to go to, especially in the fall. There is a Farmer's market in nearby Banner Elk. There are many walking or hiking paths in the area, good fishing, kayaking, gem mining, a local lake beach, and many good restaurants. It is close to Grandfather Mountain, Appalachian State University, and Tootsie Railroad. If you are a shopper, there are many antique shops and flea markets.
