About Lesley Webb
Matt and I visited Valle De Guadalupe for the first time last March to celebrate my birthday. We fell in love with the area, the people, the wine and the food. The next few months we searched and searched for a property of our own. Finally we found an amazing lot perched high on a hill and we knew it was perfect. Fast forward to 2016 and here we are, enjoying every minute we can in this magical land. We look forward to sharing it with you.

Beautiful home, perfect location!
My friends and I visited for the weekend and absolutely loved Valle de Guadalupe, especially because we stayed in this home. The views of the mountains and vineyards is incredible and the house is modern with all the amenities you would need. We loved relaxing out on the patio overlooking the landscape. The owners were very responsive and the stay was so convenient. Some reviews mentioned no WiFi, but we all had WiFi. I highly recommend this dream home for your vacation!
We loved the place! It's beautiful, comfortable and close to our favorite spots. Highly recommend it.
Thanks Liliana! So glad you had a nice stay. We love hearing nice things about our labor of love. Looking forward to the next time you stay with us :)
We have rented this property more than once and already have another reservation for a friends 40th! The property is like the SLS in LA (of the Valle) and the owners are the best I've dealt with. Accomadating is urging it nicely! Lesley was almost like a tour guide and helped us see the best of the Valle while enjoying her home! We will definitely come back again and again!
Great house and location. Horribly noisy and NO WI-FI!!!
My Husband and I are world travelers and stay in vacation rentals more than hotels. We've also visited the Valle many, many times. This was the worst rental experience to date. To note the positives, the house is one of the only homes to rent in the Valle. So, great location. The house, though not completely renovated, was cute and beds were comfy. That's where the positives stop. The roads are crap getting there and the driveway is so eroded that we bottomed out twice and had to push our car. Fun times! No Wi-Fi! I repeat, NO Wi-Fi. Apparently the owner "checked" the yes/no box on her listing for Internet. But never bothered to mention it in our communications with her, which there were plenty (more on that). We would have never expected to not have a means of connecting to the US @ this price point. Never! It's unsafe, frankly. Lastly, the house dogs and neighbor dogs barked ALL NIGHT LONG, both nights. The owner acted "surprised" by this. "They never bark". Hello, we saw them. The windows are single paned. We were woken up thru-out both nights repeatedly. This place was not cheap. We would have never expected this. The owner did nothing in return. In fact, she didn't even answer her phone when we couldn't take it anymore and called her at 2:30am the 2nd night exhausted and stressed. As a property manager by day and an owner of 2 rentals myself, I would never treat my guests this way or not offer any sort of reimbursement for their dissatisfaction. We wouldn't stay here again if someone paid us.
-I try very hard to make sure our guests have the best experience possible. I apologized to Rebecca several times. I think we were not a good match and I would never rent to her again.
-The house is barely 6 months old, I'm not sure what she means by its not renovated. We also do have dbl pane windows.
-If she has in fact been to the Valle many times it should be no surprise that the entire Valle is a series of dirt roads. Our house shares the road to one of the best restaurants in all of Mexico and next the nicest most expensive hotel in all of the Valle. I am sorry she didn't appreciate the road but that's of course not in our control.
-The wifi situation seems to really have upset her, I don't know what to say here other than we have no wifi, it clearly states we have no wifi, and when she asked I explained we have no wifi. Most places in the Valle have no wifi. I'm not sure why a world traveler would feel unsafe not having wifi? I also am confused as to why not being able to connect the the US is unsafe, I can only assume she had some emergency googling to do.
-Insert deep calming breath here, as she mentioned she called me on my cell phone at 2:46am to complain about a dog barking in the night. This was after 21 less than friendly emails leading up to and during her stay (I'm not sure how she managed to email me while in an unsafe "wifi-less" situation) To wake me in the middle of the night for a barking dog somewhere in the vicinity (it was not our dogs, this was confirmed by Rosie, our caretaker, and the other guests that were staying on the property) was inconsiderate at best.
-I invite you to read our reviews from VRBO and Airbnb for the casita below which shares the same roads, same lack of wifi, driveway and the same dogs. vrbo prop#846945 (we only recently started renting this property that is why there are only a few reviews)
The best location and the most charming house!
I stayed here during my first time in wine country and I cannot wait to go back, many times, dragging all my friends. Maybe not all, because I don't want everyone to start going and have this house be rented when I want it! The house is the perfect location in the center of all the goodness. Plus to get to it, you "turn left at the cows." !!
The house is very charming and I love that there is a pig and friendly dogs onsite. I saw another review where they said the dogs barked all night- I was surprised by that, because we were there for two nights and though the dogs came up to me for lovin' when I was outside, I didn't hear any of them make a peep. Also for driving, If you've never been to Mexico, you may be surprised by how rutty the dirt roads are, so I'm warning you now. It's bumpy, but still totally doable in a small Honda. Your car will be dirty but no real harm done!
The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need as far as plates, cups and most importantly- a wine opener goes. I had international calling on my phone so I could use google maps (which worked fine via ATT) so I was rather pleased that the place didn't have wifi and tv- it forced us to drink wine, play cards and talk with each other! It's very quiet out there so we were able to get up early and get to the business of good Mexican breakfast and wine tasting the next day.
The fact that it's been a month and I haven't been back yet pains me. I will definitely be staying here or in the 1-bedroom unit as soon as I can get away again!
Great Location, Even Better Unit
We stayed at this property so we could explore the famed Guadalupe Valley wine country near Ensenada. Both the "wine country" and the unit exceeded our expectations. The unit is upstairs above a garage and an apparently a smaller unit downstairs. Very clean and has beautiful views of the valley. Great location too cause its just a short drive to many wineries. Great place!
