Best family vacation spot!
The property was immaculate and had everything you could need for a vacation. We were greeted by Heidi as we were unloading our car and she made sure any questions were answered and we had everything we needed. A bottle of wine, some maple syrup and cookies welcomed us inside. There was plenty of towels, (both for bath and beach), linens and pillows as well as a completely stocked kitchen(spices, pots and pans, plates, glasses and every kitchen gadget imaginable). Location was great and the state park was just down the street. We took the ferry over to Burton Island for a fun afternoon. Heidi and Andy even took us for a boat ride which we all greatly enjoyed. The screened in front porch and the dock with comfortable chairs were enjoyed by all! Our 3 yr old grandson had the best time and there was a blowup bed with sides available for him plus a child size kayak which he had a blast on! You will not go wrong renting this lovely home! Heidi and Andy were so friendly and had many suggestions as to what to do and where to go in the area. The house is definitely a plus for anyone who would need handicap accessibility and features.
We will definitely be back! Thanks Heidi and Andy for helping to make our family time together memorable!
It was so nice to have you and your family! We love it when our guests get out and enjoy and explore this beautiful area.Your grandson was so quick to learning how to handle the kayak, what fun! We are looking forward to seeing you again in the future
Highly recommended this place for family
If you have the opportunity to rent this home, take it!
My family just spent a week at Heidi and Andy’s home. It was an amazing week!! This home is just beautiful! Spacious, modern, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean! Heidi and Andy thought of everything! Fresh flowers on the table, essentials in the fridge and cabinets, and local treats. They were quick to greet us upon arrival and made sure to help us make the most of our week with recommendations and their knowledge of can’t miss destinations. They took our family out on their boat and made us feel like friends, instead of guests. If you’re considering Vermont, rent this home! You will not be disappointed!!
It was so nice to meet you and your wonderful children! What fun to watch you enjoy exploring this beautiful State we call home.
We absolutely loved our stay. The house has everything you
could think of. Very comfortable and relaxing. Heidi was very responsive, and had great suggestions for us. She checked in to make sure everything was okay. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We made some great memories!
We were so happy to have you and are glad you enjoyed your stay!

About Heidi Crossman
Heidi and Andy have lived next door for over 15 years. We build this house, because we wanted to share our part of Vermont with travelers like yourselves. We are international travelers ourselves, and appreciate how welcoming and personal a home rental can be when you are in a foreign place. Heidi works at a small specialty food shop in St. Albans and is from Salzburg, Austria, and Andy works internationally, so travel takes up a fair amount of his time. We enjoy sharing our beautiful corner of Vermont and making you feel at home and refreshed by your time here. We are excited to have you stay with us, and cannot wait to tell you about the various sites and things to do. We are active with our family, and so we hope that you’ll take the opportunity to spend time with your loved ones on these beautiful shores of Lake Champlain. We also enjoy meeting people from different parts of the world and having them experience the beauty of this area.
Heidi Crossman purchased this House in 2016
Why Heidi Crossman chose Saint Albans Town
Our son was serving in the active military, and we wanted a place for veterans and their families, and people with disabilities to enjoy relaxed family time at the lake together. We know that it can sometimes be nearly impossible or difficult to find a home with amenities that a wheelchair bound person can utilize without assistance. That is why it was important to use to make sure we made the stay of anyone in a wheelchair as convenient as possible. Additionally, because our son was active in the military, we wanted to find a way to give back to our soldiers and their commitment to this country. Sharing this home is our way of saying thank you for all that you do and for the sacrifices you make in serving our country.
What makes this House unique
Wheelchair accessibility 95%, single story, incredible deck and screened porch with lake and mountain vistas. Quiet fields behind the house with decks and fire pit available. Shed housing bikes and outdoor recreation activities included. The home is also an excellent place for family gatherings such as reunions, baby, and bridal showers, etc. Just ask us, and we'd be happy to help accommodate your event. Explore this listing for things to do as we've tried to include as much as we can on the site. We'll list more here, but always ask us: Lake Champlain Bikeways; Smugglers' Notch Arobortek; Smugglers' Notch Ski Resort; Jay Peak Ski Resort; Farmers Markets; Farm stands (Hudak's); Vermont Salt Caves; Paddle boarding; Kayaking; Sailing; Boating; Dining; Shopping; Wine Trails; Brew Tours; Hot Air Balloons; Echo Learning Center; Museums; Sugar Houses; Fairs; Festivals.
