Manaharmony Hawaii is a 3-acre property located in Kohala Estates on the beautiful Kohala coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, merely 4 miles north of Kawaihae harbor. The house has two separate wings - the main house and the in-law unit. Hale Mana is the main house wing of the property. The house is a custom-designed and custom-built home which was completed in September 2016. The entire property has an expansive view of the ocean as well the majestic Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Hualalai mountains. Spencer, Mauna Kea, Hapuna, and Waialea Bay beaches, as well as Puako Beach Drive are all within 5-8 miles of the property. The town of Waimea, Mauna Lani resort, and Waikoloa Beach Resort are 20 minutes away, providing ample choices of restaurants, grocery shopping, and resort lifestyle. Two scuba dive companies along with kayak and ocean tour operators operate their boats within a 10-15 minutes driving distance from the property. The area is considered to be the drier area of the island, receiving tradewinds which keep the sky relatively clear from vog (volcanic fog). Star-gazing on the night skies free of light pollution while floating on our saltwater pool or soaking in the outdoor tub, whale-watching through binoculars during the whale season, watching the moon rise over Mauna Kea, or being awe-inspired by the light of dawn coinciding with the moon set over the ocean are some of other magical experiences you can enjoy from the comfort and peace of the many beautiful lanais on the property.

-Teak outdoor furniture including a spacious dining set, 2 single chaise lounges at the pool deck and a double chaise lounge/daybed on the main lanai.
-Fully-equipped kitchen with Kitchenaid dishwasher, gas range/electric oven, French-door refrigerator, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, rice cooker, coffee maker, and blender. Cookware, bakeware, dinnerware, and drinkware are also provided for 4 persons.
-Outdoor hand-hammered copper soaking tub on the master bed lanai
-Soaking salt-water pool with soft jets. The soaking pool is 4 ft. deep. It is not designed for water play. No jumping or diving.
-Outdoor shower at the pool.
-Master bedroom with king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom with enclosed water closet, private lanai, walk-in closet, and outdoor hand-hammered copper soaking tub
-Second bedroom can be made into a king-sized bed or two extra long twin beds. A closet and lanai.
-Second bathroom accessed from the hallway next to the 2nd bedroom.
-Tiki Torches are decorative, not for use.
-No A/C. Ceiling fans in every room including bathrooms and lanais.
-Cable TV and WIFI access, smart TV which can be linked to a laptop (not provided) via HDMI cable/mini displayport/ HDMI adaptor
-Share 1 parking space on the right side of driveway. Additional parking off the street along the cul-de-sac.
-Guests at Hale Mana DO NOT have access to the scuba gear rinsing/drying area, the breezeway lanai and outdoor shower in front of Ohana Harmony.
Your reservation is not confirmed until the rental agreement is signed. By signing the rental agreement, you accept the rules and expectations specified in the agreement in its entirety. The followings are the highlights of the most important rules for your safety, peace, and comfort. Violation will result in the termination of rental agreement, immediate termination of occupancy, and the complete forfeit of the rental fees and/or security deposit.
-4 guests maximum.
-No pets allowed.
-No party or gathering of any kind without advanced approval from owner/manager.
-No access to the under-roof structure beyond the in-house laundry room. The breezeway, scuba dive rinse/dry area and the adjacent outdoor shower are for Ohana Harmony guests only.
-Absolutely no-smoking/no-vaping anywhere indoors or out/around the property.
-The pool is a soaking pool only. It is only 4 feet deep. No pool play, diving, jumping, or leaping into the pool. No walking, sitting, or standing on the drop-off edge of the pool.
-We respect and honor our neighbors. No loud noises or loud music please.
-The Big Island is world-famous for stargazing and night skies. To reduce the light pollution on the island, please keep the use of outside lights to a minimum. Do not leave the outside light on overnight.
-Due to trade winds and occasional appearances of gusty rogue winds which gift us with more days of clear blue skies and relatively clear air from vog (volcanic fog) in North Kohala than other parts of the island,
1. please hang dry and pin your items only on designated clotheslines, not on furnitures, or lanai railings;
2. do not leave unattended belongings outside;
3. we do not provide wine glasses; and
4. do not stand against the winds. In wind gusts, stay low to the ground.
-By making the booking at the property, you acknowledge the fact that the property has two separate rental units. You have reviewed the photos and the floor plan showing the privacy perspective from both units and you accept the level of privacy or the lack thereof during your stay.
Safety Notice and Disclosure
Our desire is to provide our guests with the authentic experience of living Big Island which includes the reverence for this sacred land. We have tried to preserve the natural features of the land as much as possible in the design of the home. Equally, we care deeply about the safety of our guests, therefore we earnestly disclose safety notice for your serious considerations and we seriously urge you to make the best judgment about the safety of your party before making a reservation.
The house is built on a steep hillside of natural loose rocks and soil. The outer edge of the pool has a 12-foot drop of stone wall. The only flat grass area is only approximately 8’x10’ in size and it is edged by loose rock slopes, i.e. there is no place for young children to run around. Every lanai (covered deck and balcony) has cable railing built to code and a 10-15 feet drop onto loose rock steep slopes.
Based on the location of the building structure, the topography and natural terrain of the land, we respectfully declare that in our opinion the property is not a suitable space for children under the age of 8. It is not suitable for any person who cannot swim. Minors of all ages must be supervised by adults at all time.
The renters must take full responsibility for the safety of your party, especially minors, if you decide to book despite our disclosure of safety concerns for minors and persons who cannot swim. You will be asked to sign a liability waiver as part of the rental agreement.
