Three Queen bed/bath suites in a wing of a home on a large, private, farm estate
Built in the tradition of a Frank Lloyd Wright prairie style home, our newly completed (in 2016) bed & breakfast offers it all! Quality comforts, spacious surroundings, peace and quiet, water views, mountain views, bird watching, hiking, beach combing, plus farm fresh foods served from the grounds to the table! Our new home is located in the middle of our forty acre property along the Strait of Juan de Fuca, half way between Sequim and Port Angeles.
A high bank waterfront home perched on a perfect plot of bluff where the stream meets the sea. Our "Prairie House" bed & breakfast is our personal residence where we invite guests to rent out our guest wing which includes 3 Queen bedroom/bathroom suite accommodations as well as use of a den with an entertainment system, and laundry facilities in a 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom home. You will enjoy unobstructed views of the Olympic Mountains, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, including ship traffic, Bald Eagles nesting in nearby trees, and the occasional pod of whales. Our recently built home is tastefully furnished, private and secluded, and exceptionally clean and comfortable. It has everything you need to enjoy some Pacific Northwest life with your loved ones including wifi internet, wood burning fireplace, covered BBQ patio, living and sitting rooms, a big grassy yard... and a ton of nature trails as well as a private hike to the beach if you're adventure seeking!
There is a state-of-the-art chef's kitchen that includes a 2 facet galley sink with instant hot water, an induction cook top, a double wall oven, a microwave, a gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator, and various small appliances. We accommodate room for some refrigerated foods and cooking needs beyond our continental breakfast, upon request. There is also a kamado BBQ on the patio for guest use with an eating area that seats 6 in our cozy indoor, detached picnic room.

About Marjory Bartee
We feel very fortunate to be able to live in one of the most beautiful and unique spots on the North Olympic Peninsula and to be able to share it with travelers seeking to experience the beauty and wonders of this special area. We are located on several acres of land, partially farmland, partially woodland on the high bank waterfront bluff along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Our views are of the majestic Olympic mountain range to the south and of Vancouver Island, B.C. to the north. Having a wooded creek as our eastern boundary, we are able to provide the unique access pathway to the beach below. All of our several vacation rental homes enjoy the use of this same five minute hiking trail which is the most treasured feature of our properties. Wildlife abounds in this natural habitat where deer, eagles, river otter, seals and more are seen as an everyday occurrence. We strive to have all of our vacation homes reflect our enthusiasm for inviting, quality interiors so that our guests feel truly welcome and at home while they stay in our homes.

Why Marjory Bartee chose Port Angeles
We have lived on this acreage for many, many years and have gradually developed several vacation rentals on it over the past few years. We love this beautiful land and try to keep it looking it's best for everyone who comes to visit so that they will enjoy it as much as we do.
What makes this Estate unique
This particular vacation home is our newly built custom home with panoramic views of the Olympic Mountains to the south and the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north. It is bordered on the east by a creek which provides our trail that leads to the beach. This spectacular location is incredibly secluded and private. It is quiet and therapeutic to hear the sound of waves crashing and the occasional fog horns from the passing ship traffic. When the deer stroll past the porch and nibble on the fruit trees, and the peacock comes by to check things out, it is like a storybook setting.

Olympic Peninsula Sequim Weekend
I stayed at Prairie House over a weekend with my three adult sons. Our plan was to hike in the Olympic Range. The hosts of Prairie House were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The house is an exceptionally beautiful, modern, very large, pristine home and we stayed in the three bedroom guest wing that is like new with comfortable beds, fluffy new towels, nice windows and views of the land and deer that roam about. The wing has two spa-like bathrooms and an adjoining den with TV. The property is on a bluff overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca with views and a woodland trail down to the beach. Breakfast was ample and very healthy with yogart, hard boiled eggs (their own chickens), many kinds of fresh and dried fruit, cereals, muffins, toast, juices, etc. We were able to explore the property, including orchards. Lots of deer. 15 minutes drive in either direction to towns which have good restaurants and also to road up to Hurricane Ridge National Park. We would definitely return to this hospitable, beautiful home and property!
Very accommodating hosts who made us feel very welcome
Fresh air, blue skies,
Views of clear water, snow-capped mountains,
Canada in a close distance.
A mix of faint smell of salty sea air, moist earth calming lavender...
Acres of land, trees, apple orchard, vegetable garden;
a beehive, fresh honey...
A child's playhouse, a tree swing.
Shrubs, vines, and lichen found their home in a hollowed-out combine.
Families of deer, eagles, birds
Peacocks and chickens,
A greenhouse entertains its colorful inhabitants with soft music,
a well-rested Persian curls up under trellises of cherry tomato vines.
Must one say more?
Immaculate accommodations and hospitality.
This place is wonderful. Beautiful new home that is perfectly maintained by a gracious host. Amwesome pasture, bluff and beach hikes available from the house as well. Highly recommended.
Absolutely beautiful and comfortable accommodations!
After spending 5 nights at this lovely B&B, I would definitely recommend this place! The owners are very hospitable, the beds are super comfortable and the property itself is beautiful and peaceful. The house is brand new, very clean, and tastefully decorated. There is a washer and dryer available to do laundry. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms available on a separate wing from the rest of the living area, though the owners' master bedroom is kind of close to these, so if you're wanting absolute privacy, you may want to rent one of their other properties that are close by. The only negative thing I can say is don't plan on having the kitchen to yourself to cook in. There is very limited space to store groceries in their refrigerator, so plan on going out to eat for lunch and dinner if wanting something other than sandwiches. I was a little disappointed by the "continental breakfast," as there were just different varieties of cereal, dried fruit, and some yogurt to choose from, as well as juice and fresh coffee. This is not a place that will cook you a big breakfast, as some B&Bs do. I didn't really feel comfortable cooking in their kitchen, as it feels like you're intruding in their space. However, other than those few minor issues, I would definitely like to come back again. The property is beautiful with absolutely amazing views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There are many manicured trails to walk on that are surrounded by the rainforest-like woods. They have private access to the beach as well, which is about a 5 minute walk through the woods. The gorgeous hiking trails in the Olympic National Park are only a 50 minute drive away. There is a 90-minute ferry to Victoria, BC that you can catch in Port Angeles, which I highly recommend. There are also numerous whale watching tours to choose from. Overall, my stay was very enjoyable and relaxing!
Stunning Surroundings and Lovely House
Great time at Marjoree's B and B. Lovely area, lovely home and company. Highly recommend.
The “Prairie House” is surrounded by open fields and has very special nature trails and farmland to explore. It sits in the center of Hunters’ Gate Farm with orchards, gardens, birds, and a private beach trail, with secluded benches for resting and capturing the sweeping views at various lookout points and watching the passing ships and eagles overhead.
